| African Queen 2/4/12 . chapter 1 As the very skeptical person that I am, I find this tad difficult to believe this is actually what happens. I was not particularly impressed with the structure, I think it would have been better to read it as a script, than in essay form, but maybe this is because I didn't find it a gripping and artistic read (with a few gramatical errors here and there) which is what I'm used to reading highly descriptive and polished books. Not bad though for the ordinary Joe trying to tell a story, but this lack of professional quality makes me wonder if this is the original writiing for the screenplay. Coming to the topic of content, I think this is a high levelled start for the drama, personally I don't really like the way so much is happening to Marti all at the same time. I was hoping for Julian to make an appearance, but since I am yet to read the rest of the available chapters, I won't speculate that there wouldn't be more happening in the lives of the other characters, especially, with Red and Vanessa and Red's ex-wife (And I'm very curious how the injuries and pregnacy will affect her membership in the squad and consequently her scholarship) If I was too harsh forgive me, I'm just that kind of person who beats on the negatives to help a friend improve. I feel praise gets to people's heads and makes them lazy. |
