icansoar 8/24/11 . chapter 1This was very well written! |
cutecrazyice 8/24/11 . chapter 1I cried while reading that chapter and I cried while watching the movie and SFDGHJKL ANNIE HOW COULD YOU. CRYING AGAIN. This is beautiful, in case my bawling eyes aren't proof enough. MORE HP? *nudges* |
The Scarlett Ribbon 8/23/11 . chapter 1Reading this made me feel kind of breathless, General. Snape is one of the most complex and until the very end, mysterious characters in the series and the way you write him is beautiful. I love the way you wrote about the Dark Mark almost refusing to take - Voldemort's insanity physically warring inside Snape's body with the love he always held for Lily. The changing tenses was wonderful in that it made certain scenes stand out in the sequences of events - so that in some places it is like someone else is looking back on Sev's life, or narrating it, but when it switches to the present, you're suddenly inside his head. I loved both the book and the film and I am thoroughly impressed with the way you've managed to merge both. I don't think I could have done it. I think my favourite part was "Sometimes loving someone -the burden of it - becomes so real that it gains a physical tangible weight. You begin to feel if pressing against the walls of your heart, year after year, day after day, until it grows to define you. The love you feel becomes who you are." Yes, it does. In three sentences you take the whole of Snape's being and show the truth of who he is. Really, really well done. It makes my fingers itch for HP fanfiction again for the first time in years. Thanks so much for posting this! |
