| Mimi 2003-01-28 ch 4, anon. | abuseLife is so unfair! Here there is, one of the most interesting fanfiction stories, with a completely original premise, wonderfully starting to unfold, great writing, and then...nothing! I HATE the Lord of the Rings! :) |

| Strawberige 2002-09-12 ch 4, | abuseHm, I waited all the summer to get the compt to read stories and this one. I so sorry for John, hope the team will help him, cause I don't think any counselling can. He's hard to open his feelings. Hm, and where is Sam? O.K. goodluck to u:-))) |
| Maria 2002-06-30 ch 4, anon. | abusehi, please continue the story, I check every day for the next chapter. It would be wonderful if you continue with it. |
| CharmingTia 2002-06-16 ch 4, anon. | abuseYou are handling this so well...this is going to be very ** John. I would imagine it would bring up memories of the abuse he and his mother suffered at the hands of his father. Maybe not the same kind of abuse, but he was still helpless to stop it. Since I assume he is the only victim to survive, the entire case will rest on John's testimony...that's an awful lot of weight on his shoulders, not to mention the media attention. Then there's the fact that there aren't as many resources for male rape victims. It's going to be a very rough road. |

| Lina 2002-06-07 ch 4, anon. | abuseThe story is coming along great and in a typical John manner. He does have to deal with the trauma, nightmares are common in this case, apathy, loose of appetite, repetitive and sometimes obsessive behavior, denial, anger, shutting out other people and unfortunately many other side effects. So exploring the psychological aspect would be good and how he is going to let his friends build a support net for him. Also the long term changes to his personality and lifestyle are a good idea to explore, how this is going to affect his personal life, and work and what steps he is going to take to overcome them. You are doing a very nice job of it, sensitive but realistic. |
| Melissa3 2002-06-04 ch 4, | abuseOf course John wouldn't want the others to know. He always likes to keep his emotions to himself, and he doesn't like others feeling sorry for him. I have a feeling John won't be very open to the counseler(or whoever he's seeing.) at first. Please keep up the good work. |
| Cindy 2002-06-04 ch 4, anon. | abusewhere to go next, hmmmm. I think your approach is good. So much for John to deal with when he would just prefer to act as though nothing happened. He has anger, shame, most likely nightmares, he will have to testify which means the rest of the team will not be in the dark for long. John is not a patient man. He may believe the best approach is just to forget it, try to tough it out, throw himself into work. To him talking won't change anything and only serve to embarrass him. There could be depression, withdrawal (while on the surface joking around, also defensiveness and anger which is redirected inappropriately. Let's not forget the risk of aids too. A serial killer would not practice safe sex. The team is also going to feel responsible, like they let him down. Baily's concern is almost paternal and John is going to need that. This experience will be a hard lesson for John but i think he will come out of it with more empathy for the victims of violence and greater appreciation for the team of friends who will stand by him. He will have to face the fact that he is not invincible, he is sometimes afraid and that reaching out for help does not make him weak, it makes him human. |
