I feel that the story itself is turning out well, but I am somewhat concerned by the way that the characters are speaking. Having played through Chrono Cross before, I guess I've just gotten used to the way that the game portrayed their speech patterns. I think that it might 'feel' a bit better if you were to use the same type of speech patterns for everyone that tehy had in the game instead of the poor grammar that you've given everyone(though that is quite in-character for Kid). I would say you've done a good job of integrating the few battle sequences you've had so far, though, and hope to see this quality of writing continue with the rest of the story.
