I know I'm a bit late in reviewing the end of this four part story of yours. I just reread the whole thing and I just want to say it deserves a sequel. Take your time in building it, but there should be a follow on story at some point. After all you have Anubis out there looking for Daniel aka Alexander as a potential host. You have the rogue watchers hunting him because they misguidingly believe he's somehow betrayed the Watchers and humanity, and of course there's the occasional idiot with an extremely long life span thinking they can take Methos Adam Daniel Alexander Pierson Jackson's head.

It maybe even interesting to write something that's post Stargate Universe and perhaps a slight rewrite of Stargate: Continuum with your version of Daniel Jackson in place of the one in the movie.

Eh, still mostly Methos with a crunchy shell covering of Daniel. But if a new name helps him integrate the two personalities better, so be it. Thanks for sharing and continuing this continuity. I do wonder what will happen when "Alexander" realizes that he was meant to have been murdered. Well, he already knows now that some of the Watchers are out to get him... so I expect a laugh and a drink might do it.

I bet Daniel now has an immunity to the Goauld.

Also it would be interesting if you eventually did tie in Alien influence on the Immortals. Like either some sort of genetic anomaly from the Ancients blood mixed human or possible even another Alien race that setup the entire situation. If you pull in Destiny ship from SGU then the possibilities are that another very advanced race on the level of cosmic power could be responsible, like a group capable of making the Ancients look like young-lings. Then again I can't dismiss the possibility of ancient technology created by an Ancient that was meant for his kind to stay immortal but ended affecting some humans. We have seen that Ancient technology is not necessarily tuned to human physiology so the whole 'Game' could be a result of unexpected side-effects of being used on a human. The Quickening does sound good from the perspective of ensuring knowledge is kept if say a fellow Immortal was taken down by a non-immortal.

So...if I had to make a definite guess I would say the Immortals are a result of Ancient technology with possible Janus being the actual creator since all of his inventions shown were awesome but destructive.
