Tainted Fortune 8/14/03 . chapter 21
That was really good! I want to read more about Legolas and Frodo. When will the hobbit find out who his captor is? Oh, you have to update! I love the story, great job!
LAXgirl 8/14/03 . chapter 16
Ok Ok. I admit. I've slacked off with reading the rest of those chapters i promised i would since i left my last review. For awhile there i thought you had abandoned it and i guess i rationalized i didn't want to read the rest and get the end and be like: 'oh my god! what happens next? what happen next?' but there would be no 'what's next'. But no worries! You're back! You're not dead! So i'm back too and hurrying to play catch up.

Anyway, Gimli's stay in Lorien is really interesting and sweet. Nimfealorien (i seriously hope i spelled that right...) really REALLY reminds me of Legolas. I guess that's why Gimli took such a shining to him. For a while there i thought you were seriously going to kill him off! If you had, i swear i would have hurt you. i like our 'white spirit of lorien'.

I have to give you serious recognition for your story telling. The way you weave your own story into tolkien's stuff is really amazing. Celeborn's recall of Thingol and (aww, shoot... i read the Silmarillion and all of Tolkien's books, but i'm drawing a major blank on that elven kingdom's name...) anyway, yeah that place, was really amazing. It really made my heart go out to Celeborn.

But besides my procrastination in reading, i kind of skipped ahead and took a skiming glance over your latest update just to see what's in store for me later on. All i have to say in rebuttle to your response to my review is that i wasn't really HAPPY with Bormir's death! It just seemed kind of fitting! I wasn't jumping up and down in my seat or anything chanting 'Boromir's dead! Bormoir's dead! Whoho!' No no. Quite on the contrary! I was saddened by his death, but like i said, it gives something extra to the story. Not another one of those perfect world pieces where all the charaters make it out alive and live happily ever after; it makes it more realistic. That's also the reason i feared for Nimfealorien and also STILL fear for Legolas...

You are going to bring him back aren't you? Please say you will! I'm totally down with realistic pieces but when it comes to my elf... Aw you just better hope you think of a way to bring him back... :)

Ok, enough with my insanity. I'll see you son in another chapter. I think i did pretty well today. What would that be... four chapters or so of your chapters isn't that bad, right? Well, whatever the case, i'm slowly but surely closing in on the home stretch.

'Till next time

Hello! I must admit that I have read your story before, loved it then lost it. Oh well, I found it at last!

So Legolas, the real one, is truely in the Halls of Mandos? Or do you have something planned for him as well? lol.

Chapter 21 was a bittersweet chapter, I think. Boromir is being burned. (eww) But the Hobbits tell a funny tale. And they know a little more about Legolas' sister. I love her name Lelemir. That is so pretty. Especially the meaning of her name. I love it!

Great chapter, great story, great reviews. Sounds like the perfect author to me!:-D

Namaarie!

But I *have to* leave a review for your note! (grin) Buz this way I might get your attention, and you'll answer the note I sent you about Brethilas... (grin)

When you get a chance, my dear, please let me know if you got it, and if there's enough info.

Now what can we do to jump start your Muse and make your life easier, so you can write? (hugs)

I have to agree with Treehugger, and i couldn't say it any better. Just wanted to let you know that others feel the same way! Best of luck and i will still wait for another chapter! My little brother forgives you too!
TreeHugger 7/27/03 . chapter 21
Oh, and for heaven's sake - you know some of will not resist this plea, O Kate the Great. ;D

I think most of us understand how RL can take presidence over FFL (Fanfiction Life). It happens to all of us, so you really needn't apologize. Those of us who write also know how the plot bunnies can be secretly wicked, giving you an entire story and then not giving the right words that need to be written to tell said story.

We will wait patiently for you, we love you too much to abandon you. So do not fear! We will be here when the time comes for an actual chapter.

Elenath sila am le! :D

I have not reviewed thus far... And I must make this quick, but this is incredible story. Deviating so far from canon, as you put it, but managing to stay in Tolkien's Middle-Earth is incredible. My congratulations. I love your work, and I hope to see this updated some time in the future! _

Kathrine, I'm *dying* here! What's going to happen to Legolas? What news does Gandalf have for Thranduil? It's this story's turn for an update now, don't you think? Patience may be a virtue, but anxiousness is soon to take over...
Silent.Storm 5/19/03 . chapter 20
Hail and good evening fair lady!

I'm new to the LOTR fandom (eventhough I have read the core books already a while ago) and well, I just started reading your fic because the title drew me in (very good title btw)... I read it all in one sitting, it was that good.

after the congratualtions, on with the review...

I am daring to make some wild guesses here, but all that I say is mainly based on the fact that I wonder how people will react to our rather (un?)dead Legolas. Judging from the title I daresay that Legolas will become his own man again (wraith?) and that therefore we will have much angsty elves to deal with and freaked out fellowships (gods I'm looking forward to soemthing of the sort!) I marvel at what you have done here, Legolas has always been the epitome of life, and here you turned him into exactly the opposite, I would like to see his friends and family deal with it! and him as well, perhaps you would give him some powers pertaining to death and cold much the way an elf has abilities that relate to nature and life? It would be interesting to see him like that... his very nature would repulse him, and maybe intrigue him (if it already does not :P )

Another thing that I would like to commend is how you have portrayed Gimli, you're the first author (other than JRR Tolkien) that I have seen who does not make Gimli into a support cahracter without much value aside from cheering up Legolas (or beating some sense into him) when needed, or much more degrading: make him only a poor excuse of comic relief. You have shown that he has his own value, that he is a hero in his own right and there is much more to his person than meet the eyes... perhaps you will have him leading an army of angry thunder-throwing-hammer-wielding dwarves? that would be SO cool!

Anyway, keep it up that I eagerly await the next installment to finally finmd out what happens to Legoolas after Gandalf kicks Saruman's sorry ass all over middle earth a few times over ;)

cya around, and again, congratulations!
LAXgirl 5/17/03 . chapter 1
Whoa! Sorry about that. I must have hit a button oir something but my review was submitted before i was done... Anyway, Yeah, lovin' that Boromir's dead. Is he going to come back as a wraith? How exactly does Legolas turn others into wraiths? But his swords, arrows, or both? Hm intriging questions...

I have to ask you do have a plan for bringing Legolas back, right? I mean Elrond helped Frodo before when he was struck by a morgul blade, but then again, Legolas is kind of but not really dead and is a full wriath now. Will the others ever find out what actually happened to him, or do we have to wait until the seige of Isengard to find out? Oh I know i still have eight chapters or so to catch up and all and maybe have some of my questions answered, but please update soon (and put more Legolas in! hint hint wink wink...)_

BTW, this bad boy here''s going straight into my favorite's list so i can read the rest real soon when my butt's not falling asleep in the computer chair... Not that you really needed to know that...

so 'till next chapter!

Great GREAT concept for a story! I love the idea of Legolas becoming a wriath. Only one teeny tiny ittsy bittsy problem i have... WHERE THE HELL IS LEGOLAS! He's only had about two five-second walk-by parts so far and i DYING to read more about what's happening with my boy! Is he going to come more into the story at all! I want more Legolas! Please!

Ok. Now that I'm vented i can review more sanely. I do like the rest of the story so far. I like it how the fellowship is still going on with the mission, and thought it may seem orbid to say: I like it that Boromir's dead... :P
Cyblade Silver 4/25/03 . chapter 8
Wow. This is the most original LOTR story I've read yet. I enjoy stories about the Ringwraiths, since they really are some of the most interesting characters in the trilogy.

And now for something completely different ;)

(Cyblade snaps his fingers, and five 4-foot by 6-foot crates of fresh, ripe carrots appear)

Enjoy!

Kate- You never fail to astoud me! Oh, and I can tell that you're not in the least bit prideful of your work, this conclusion being drawn from the notes before the chapter *Jez smirks* anywho, keep writing, I MUST know whats going on w/everyone else! You're killing me here!
Criket 3/7/03 . chapter 3
omigod! omigod! *hyperventilates*

Alright, I'm better now. Sorry 'bout that.

Wow, you are one of the best authors on FF.net, methinks. I shall definitely add you to my favorite authors list! (not that anybody reads it or anything.but it's the thought that counts, right? heh heh)

Seriously, I have absolutely no criticism to offer. None. That's not supposed to happen! Heh heh.

I think I shall continue reading now.
Dragon-of-the-north 2/19/03 . chapter 20
My goodness, what a story! I finally found the time to plunge into your gorgeous AU, and I do not know where to start praising you. Well - most important of all is the wonderful language! For long passages, you are very close to Tolkien's own style, and the formal speech used for the dialogues is simply wonderful. I could fill a page with favourite lines, but here's my absolute favourite of all: "Are you certain you are indeed a Dwarf?” LOL - it's lines like this which keep your intriguing tale from becoming too depressing. Write on soon!
