And I agree when you describe HB vulnerable. She is more than a nasty potions teacher (as everyone know :). And it was cute, I was happy for them behind my computer. Aaaah, I really liked this! Read the second chapter last night, and whilst I was hoping for a bit of HB/Drill filth, I think you did the right thing in not letting it go too far. It's really hard to pull off and once it's done it's done, and so is some of the magic that goes with the anticipation.

I liked HB admitting she actually wanted Imogen to stay with her... I think she would, in reality, surprise us and make some sort of move in the end. Plus she'd probably prefer to feel she was in control, rather than being overwhelmed by someone else's candour.

i think the kiss was just fine, and i feel like there should be third part, at least, to this. that's just me, and you can ignore it if you like, but i felt i should let you know.

Well done :) the tension was building the whole way through until the end, its a clever idea and I think both characters were in character, except maybe a little bit of HB ;) but we all like seeing her slightly softer side. Nicely done.

Amazing and worth the wait ;)

This was a very sweet story. Your writing style is fluid and easily flows from one beat to the next. I found myself engrossed from start to finish. Your characterizations of both Constance and Imogene seem spot on, and I never got the sense that either of the two had any instances of breaking character. I enjoyed seeing this more vulnerable side of Hardbroom, if only because it serves as a reminder that she is, in fact human, and although she hides behind her icy persona deep down.. way deep down she does have a heart. Imogene was sweet, and it was nice to see a bit more of her personality shine through; in the show you do get the sense that she is a caring person, but her character is often over-shadowed by many of the other more central characters of the series. I know this was written as only a first installment, but even if you were to end it here, the story really works and stands strong on it's own. 4.5/5 stars ****1/2
