Oh jjbird! A new chapter! I was so excited when I saw this! Loved the beautiful picture you painted of Montana! Never been there, but now I can imagine it! A profound chapter, how Jack felt he wouldn't be missed, and Sam revealing things about Brian (the scum), and that Jack was her best friend and how SHE messed it up. Loved hearing back story on Chester...the 27yr old blond wrapped around him must have been interesting. Wonder what others went after the "sexy outdoorsman"? Rugged, outdoorsy Jack-what an awesome picture! Please don't leave us hanging too long waiting to see how "this" blond gets wrapped around him (I hope!). Anyhow, loving your JS as usual!

Wonderful update, jbird. Although I'd liked to have imagined them rolling around on a mountainside, enjoying some passionate sex among the wildflowers(LOL), having them quietly discuss the events of the last five years made more sense. Of course, Jack thought she was happily together with Brian, so he wasn't about to 'go there' again. When Sam told him how much she missed her best friend, I could almost see the change on his face. Now, hopefully things can be different, and I'm looking forward to the final chapter (plus epilogue) to find out just where these two 'best friends' end up.

Well, knock me over with a feather, girl friend! I'm totally blown away! Even though you described it as being mainly dialog covering 5 years of history, it was still action-packed!

You took 5 years of their lives, compacted it into a comparitively short space, and answered what would have been the most asked questions about Jack and Samantha. You still have the electricity flickering between them, curbed by the reality of their current situation.

This leaves me asking "What happens next? Will they find a way to get back together?"

On the other hand, if they go their separate ways, will this be the end of your ever writing anymore Jack & Samantha fanfic? I hope that's not the case. The show's been off for way too long, but there would be nothing to keep you from writing an occassional scene out of their lives.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

Fishing is his favorite thing (besides golf, that is)...and Jack is my favorite 'thing', so I'd definitely want him as our guide. This story just got more intriguing. Are "Hayley" and "Ches" going to be followed by a hit man? I can't believe Jack is out of the woods (pun not intended) yet with the cartel. I'm sure you have a plan, but unless Sam moves Finn and her to Missoula, I don't see how she and Jack can ever be together. I'm trying to picture Jack in a plaid shirt sitting on a horse. All I can see is him in a black suit, white shirt, and black tie. Sorry, I'm rambling, but this was a good chapter and please hurry on with Ch. 3.
