I always thought that the 'insult' mudblood was rather illogical. At the best of times it sounds slightly irritating and at the worst it would send me into a fit of giggles. Really now why mudblood? If the children where from a family where a wizard had married a non-magical then you could say that the magical blood had been tainted and hence the title mudblood but then the child being called such would be a half-blood. Or if the person was from a non magical family and had wizarding powers then their normal blood has been tainted and in that case the child is a 'disgrace' to his non-magical parents not wizards. And the they go around using mudblood and getting all offended: it's like being called poophead by a four year old throwing a tantrum and therefore unable to think of a proper insult- very irritating but not damaging in the least. Getting annoyed on principle is just...

Cool story though. Of course part of the joy of it was that Malfoy was too lost to even use that high brow society speech of his (he must have been taught how to speak in riddles and how to speak poisoned words smothered in honey- the Malfoy family just gives that impression) to confound them back :D

Thank you, i've felt that Ron and Draco are just light and dark mirrors of each other for quite some time. Good to see the muggle raised Harry and Hermione using logic to outwit both Malfoy and Ron, pity you didn't have them comment on the meaning of Malfoy last name. Other than that bril.
