I must say, I really enjoyed this. It's kinda cool how you managed to make such a light-hearted yet semi-solemn story from such a gloomy, desperate situation. The way you described all the characters that were the most important people in Chris' life, it almost sounded like the first chapter of something. :)

My favorite lines:

"I smile suddenly. She's alive to butcher the sonata, and I'm alive to cringe at it. Forget finding this funny ten years in the future. I'm laughing now."

It's like "stop & smell the roses," except on a whole new level.

I absolutely love the ending to this story.

That was pretty cool. It had me going in the direction of a sexual farce, but turned it into a big brother type of thing. I liked that.

LOL! That was funny! Poor Chris, I know Becky's bad at that piano, but dont worry, she'll get better after she practices for...5 minutes. Then all the pain will end and you can go back to kicking some zombie ass like usual. _

Weird how those two are trying to play the piano at a time like this, huh?

Ha! That's one of my favorite moments from REmake. I always thought of that "I guess I'm a bit rusty" line, uttered with the fearfully close proximity of a fallen comerade, wilst surrounded by undead former human beings waiting in the wings to devour your flesh. Superb writing, positively superb.

Serena, you never fail to impress. There's such raw honesty in this piece that it nearly drives me to tears. Chris' inner monologue about Rebecca - the "You aren't rusty," one - is really beautiful. These angsty little contributions might be short, but they put almost every longer one to shame. Bless that talent of yours.

I like this one. I don't play as badly as Rebecca seems to, but I still suck. I need a big brother who'd take it in stride. I actually feel bad for Jill around here, and I'm not predisposed to do that...Odd. I'm beginning to like Chris quite a good deal more, as well.
