Severus' birthday present to Hermione was rather sweet, in spite of your author's note at the end. Poor him though, being whipping boy for Draco... Loved the banter between Severus and Hermione, as well as the conversation with Lucius.

Poor Hermione, Dilys is going to give her a whole makeover... but it won't necessarily show, except in her self- confidence. And Ron needed to hear that. It was funny to visualize Harry getting thrown on his arse.

Severus' lessons are off to a great start. I so loved the concept of teaching them how to think, that it's actually a standard of sort for me now; every time I read a fic where Severus teaches private lessons, I'm disappointed if he doesn't teach how to think for themselves.

Good riddance about Wormtail. Poor Severus, so distrusted by the Order... At least Hermione knows about it now. And Harry was way out of line. He really is his father's son, sometimes. That comment was not only quite vindictive, it was rather petty.

I wonder why Dumbledore was annoyed at Hermione coming to Grimmauld... Was it because it went against his plans in some way, or perhaps was a potential risk to endanger his spy, or maybe what she could tell Harry? Anyway, I loved the scene when Severus comfort Hermione after her nightmare.

I really agree with you on the fact that it shouldn't have taken Hermione another year to realize that her parents were in danger now that Voldemort was out in the open. I'm glad Severus chose to warn her.

this is by far the best HGSS story I have read so far. It is your fault that I spent a few days reading when I should have been sleeping, preparing lessons or marking essays - no complaints, though!
I actually read several stories on without bothering to ever register, but since I found this one, I registered so I could follow you, review for the first time and favorite stories. You are a terrific writer and I thank you for hours of joyful reading. I have not found any other stories about Hermione and Severus that are even remotely as close to the original characters as yours, while put in such wonderful stories. You really have a gift! After Chasing the Sun, I read Post Tenebras, Lux and now I'm working myself through your short stories of them. Please tell me you have already written or plan on writing more about these two or i'm shattered. :)

Poor Severus, getting blamed for Black's stupidity and recklessness... I was really happy later on in the fic when Lupin was finally put in his place. At least, Hermione came back alive...

It was fascinating to read about the Occlumency duel. Poor Severus though, he had quite a shock when he realized his Patronus didn't work anymore. And now without the Weasleys twins and Minerva, things are coming to a head...

I think Severus just realized he's starting to fall for Hermione, like he did once for Lily. Anyway, the more I read about how you describe Occlumency, the more fascinating I find it.

Hermione waiting to inform Severus of the coup d'etat was interesting, especially afterwards when Severus laughed at seeing Marietta. I loved the descriptions about Occlumency...

The plot thickens... Azkaban's breakout, Dumbledore ordering Severus to teach Harry's Occlumency, Harry's interview with The Quibbler, Hermione waiting for Severus at the gates, Umbridge wanting Veritaserum and founding the Inquisitorial Squad..
