soundofkookaburras 12/11/11 . chapter 5
I didn't read this when it was first posted because the summary didn't grab me, but I just read your other emergency fanfic which was great and then looked to see what else you had written. Loved this one as well. Great details.

Excellent story. Loved the way each time the story was told, something new was added by someone else.

You are a very talented writer. You nailed the characters...esp Cap and the banter between the whole station. Do not be a stranger, really wanting to see more from you! Thanks!
Ariane Rivendell 10/16/11 . chapter 5
Enjoyed every minute of the ride, Enfleurage. LOVED LOVED the banter in the kitchen and the dynamic between all of 'Our Guys'.

So many touches I loved I couldn't list them, but one I liked:

"He watched them absorb the news for a bit, noticed Roy seeking out Gage's eyes and the two paramedics communicating silently with each other, while Marco was elbowing Chet to get him to look back at him."

Incredibly engrossing tale with great realism, and, of course, Cap in fine form.

An absolute gem.

You have Cap so totally down... Absolutely NOTHING in this, so far, that I don't like. Every word is captivating. Fabulous!
Ariane Rivendell 10/16/11 . chapter 1
Hot damn, this is fabulous, Enfleurage. :-)

Gripping, beautifully in character (GOD, I love Cap!) and just damn well written!

Very glad you wrote this. Will savor the rest of the chapters...

In the meantime, I hope you have more stories!

I really enjoyed your story. Especially how you involved all the members of the station in it. I can't remember when I've ever seen it done quite so well.
Kelmin 10/1/11 . chapter 5
Cap's thoughts about the noisy apparatus bay doors remind me of a parent's thoughts about having ways to hear a teenager coming home late at night. You want to know they're home-you want to have something you can listen for. (Not like I know yet; mine's only seven.)

And what you had Cap say here:

"You know what they say: an ordinary day for us is usually the worst day of their lives for the people we help."

That is so true.

Mathers' suicide, while a grim ending to the story, is appropriate for the tone of the entire piece. Even the one other run we heard anything about, the man who died having drunkenly aspirated his own vomit, shows the darker side of humanity.

Very, very well done story!
Kelmin 10/1/11 . chapter 4
Chilling, chilling descriptions of a nasty domestic violence scene. Well done with that. Completely and frighteningly believable.

And more priceless banter and bickering, to relieve the tension (which, after all, is why they do it, so it's extremely apt how you use it in this story).
Kelmin 10/1/11 . chapter 3
Some things I really love about this chapter:

-Gage saying "You know, if I'd've done what you did, my ears would've been bleeding by the time you got through with me." He's the classic poor-impulse-control guy, and actually SAYING that at that moment showed extremely poor impulse control, so you've really nailed his character there.

-Cap's just great in this chapter. He dresses Gage down appropriately but not cruelly, and in the engine on the way home, he restores things to some semblance of normality by starting conversation where there was silence.

-The bickering at the table about who first had the idea that Roy would be called in next was PRICELESS.

And yeah, the DA will love Cap.

I really enjoyed this story. I like how you presented everyone on the crew, especially Cap.

Hope to see another story from you
The Delirium Threemen 9/29/11 . chapter 5
The pace of this story was PERFECT. It didn't lull at any point. I'm with some of the other reviewers, I kept reading from start to end. This story just sucks a reader right in. Liked how Captain Stanley was a little more prominent in this story, while the others were given equal basis as well, perfect balance there.

Great work all the way around.

This was an excellent, gripping story. I found myself trying to read it too fast, because I wanted to know what was going to happen. I particularly enjoyed the way you wrote the guys, your characterizations were spot on. Also, the small details you included really added dimension to the scenes. Great job! I hope you're here to stay!
Bamboozlepig 9/29/11 . chapter 5
Definitely a gritty and gripping read that had me on the edge of my seat the entire five chapters. I love that it's from Cap's POV, he's too often ignored in fanfic it seems, and it's nice to see a story about him that is such a great read and so in character for not only him, but the others. Hope to see more from you in this fandom, this was a wonderful read!
Neemps 9/29/11 . chapter 5
