Your story is fantastic and the characters you have crafted leap off the page and are intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed all 24 chapters and hate that the story was not finished. I would love to know what happens to the Poet and Anakil. Thank you for taking the time to share your story.

I've been trying to find a story about the brothers' escape from the bridge of Osgiliath by swimming, for a long time, and I finally found it!
Thank you for this wonderful story! Both of the brothers, the rangers, and the massengers and great heroes in their time. Their deeds have moved me so much.

Great story! You told superbly about the relationship between Boromir and Faramir. I also liked the way you described Boromir's greatness that is hinted at in the books.

Poignant and beautifully rendered is the role of children in a war.

I just came upon this story a few days ago. It is wonderful! Good storyline, great characters. You have really brought Boromir and Faramir to life for me, along with your OCs. I hope you will continue to write this story, as I am hoping against hope that somehow Beldil survived, and that the big brute Glaurung ended his life in a quiet pasture somewhere. However it ends, I will be eagerly awaiting the rest of the story.

I'm becoming quite fond of Anakil's horse--ugly, loyal, brave, fierce, and loving. But the injured feet make me cringe.

YAY! The Poet is still alive!! :) :) I just knew he would be and was ever hopeful that Anakil would be able to see his mentor again. Most excellent!

Poor Anakil! Having to bury one of his own, was ** the lad. But, like he stated to the Healer, Messengers are not cowards and must protect their message at whatever cost. Very descriptive on what Anakil dealt with upon finding the bodies of horse and rider. Just enough to make us all smell the stench of death and want Anakil to hurry and get out of there before the orcs made an appearance.

Love the scene with the brothers 'Mir joining in on the soldiers campfire. There is a good camaraderie amoungst these men and I like how there is an ongoing friendly fued between the Rangers and Gondor's regular Army. :) :)

Anborn had good timing with his "warning" to the soldier about his gear. snicker! "“Be careful, soldier of Gondor!” Anborn said slowly. “Some soldiers wake up in the morning with their swords and shields gone. Sometimes they discover them days later, high up in the branches of a sturdy tree, and they never find out how their gear got there."

heh heh heh! So! The Rangers really are of value to the Osgiliath troops, if only to retrieve their gear from the trees. ;) :)

Oh, I'm so glad that Poet is still alive! I thought for sure he'd died... so many had and I just couldn't see him surviving once the horse had been found. I wanted to yell at Anakil to get up and leave that body unburied and just hurry along. I just knew something bad would happen! Of course, it was just like him to want to stay and bury the body even with the threat of orcs around... it fit his character perfectly.

Oh, I am so glad to see a new chapter of this, absolutely delighted! I was reading parts of it only a few weeks ago and hoping that a new chapter would somehow arrive. It is an absolute delight to be back with these characters and this story again, and I hope we won't have to wait so long for another chapter - but no matter how long it takes, I won't ever give up on this wonderful story!

Your English is terrific, and I would never have guessed that this chapter had not been beta-ed. I'm not sure who your betas were, but the HA mailing list is still going strong, and you might find someone there willing to help out?
