I loved this; the perfect antidote for the S2 angst and stress and gnashing of teeth. Perfect banter and turn of phrase, and they are totally hot without hardly touching each other. Which is the hottest way to be hot. (M/M phone sex?) Thank you for making Mary having already told Matthew her Big Secret, because I am so completely tired of the supposed canon that she doesn't accept him because she is afraid to tell him about Pamuk. I just don't buy that line. Speaking of lines, is the title of the story from the Bonnie Raitt song?

*sigh* This fic deserves SO much love, it's INCREDIBLE. I swear, this is what's going to get me through s2. It just makes SO MUCH SENSE. I love the phrase of his "eyes caressing her face", they DO, and how she has to encourage him to show some public affection to Lavinia - it just interweaves with what we've seen so brilliantly! Oh, I love it. This is my head-canon, completely. And thank you so much for writing it!

I love your fanfictions, I read your name on it and quite frankly I don't even read the description I know it will be good and this one hasn't disappointed, however I had never thought that Sir Richard might actually do something against Mary like blackmailing her the way he did with lavinia...

I love this! A perfect antidote to angst. I love the idea that they're not only deceiving their families but the fandom as well, as though they have sprung to life outside the confines of TV drama and playing a trick on us all. They were a bit cold about Lavinia though :)

How about an MLitt in fanfic, majoring in Downton Abbey?

This can just be total canon. In fact I am going to pretend it is canon. Hey Mary did't like Pamuk she was just doing her part for the war. Seriously this is a fun fic. And I love the idea M&M want to give Violet and company something to do. Love this whole fic.

I see no reason why you can't write fanfic AND do your MLitt, especially when it produces such utterly wonderful, delightful, clever and amazing work such as this. :) Your banter sparks and crackles, and even in the crackiest of situations, your characterization always shines through brilliantly. :D Nobody walks the sweet/hot line as effectively, and this manages to be not only humorous but romantic and a little steamy. ;) Thank you for reinterpreting the whole season - makes so much more sense now. :) Seriously PLEASE keep writing, because you're AMAZING at it - and this was just fantastic! :)

Heeeee, I love this version of s2! It so nicely explains everything and cheers me up greatly. Great banter between M/M as usual. I shall be returning to this when things grow messy for M/M on the show. :)
