Willa Mitty 1/20/03 . chapter 8(SuperBlonde leds out a long, low whistle.)
DAMN!
I promised you a while back that sometime I'd get the bravery to read this, and this is definitely very cool! It makes my head spin to think of all of the time and effort you put into this, (but then again, I'm certainly no poet.) Can I bribe you with a cookie to write more? |
gilenagile 9/6/02 . chapter 8A great perspective on BBWW. Makes me wish for the complexity of S1 all over again-"Lives twisted and bent in a broken world" that line almost sums up the spirit of that season. Like how you brought Zack into the equation at the end and tied all their motivations together. This is definetly one of my favourite to date. |
Kasman 9/5/02 . chapter 8I agree Fin. Zack went without love and was cruelly used and abused throughout his life. Really he was someone crying out for love, trouble is, he fell for the wrong girl, or maybe the right girl at the wrong time. Either way, IMO Max thought of him as a brother and nothing more. You sure are right about the "pushing away" storylines. Max and Logan are both guilty of this...where's catherders 4x2 when I need it? Thwack, thwack. |
catherder 9/5/02 . chapter 8 Well, you sure have provided food for thought with this one. I always thought the episode was about everyone doing the right thing, no matter how painful. And it is indeed painful, with all of them imprisoned in some way (even Normal). Thanks for making us think and for reminding us how layered the first season was. Well done, as usual. |
Fin Tuscany 9/3/02 . chapter 8I've been thinking a lot lately about Zack's character. What a hideous, spartan existence he had! He was tortured and abused. Then, when all he wanted was some small measure of comfort from Max-after he had literally given her his heart!-she rejected him and sent him into exile. I know Max is a one man woman, but I can't help but think that maybe she could have given Zack some shelter from the storm. DA was lousy with storylines about pushing people away to protect them. What about keeping them around, to take care of them? Once again, your verse leaves me with a lot to think about. Thanks for writing it. |
Kyre 9/3/02 . chapter 8You know, I never realized how much the ep was about ALL the characters doing the right thing. I'd always focused on Logan's letting Max go, but this shows me that the ep was trying to show the ethical decisions the others had to face as well. It's not like their dilemmas had never occurred to me; just that I never pondered them much. Anyway...I'm on my lunch hour now and I'm not quike making sense, so I'll stop talking, except to say that I liked as usual. Oh, and I noticed that letting Max go is the only decision that Logan's unsure about. "I think I did the right thing..." Very interesting. ;) |
Carolyn 9/2/02 . chapter 8 What a novel idea...the whole season in verse! Each one is so well done. Each seperated paragraph all the way through is perfect with so much power and depth of emotion. I'm enjoying this so much. Each episode is a joy and I can't wait for the next one! Loved this one...BBWW is my all time favorite episode. How I miss the DA that produced BBWW! Thanks for these wonderful walks down memory lane of the DA that I loved back in season one. I'm so looking forward to your next installment! |
Fin Tuscany 7/14/02 . chapter 7Good for you for doing this - very creative and unusual. I hope you continue! Thanks for writing it. |
Kyre 7/13/02 . chapter 7I came, I read, I liked. I wondered why you switched from second person to third person when talking about Brin...but liked anyway. LOL. |
Kyre 7/13/02 . chapter 6Good as always. "The lunatics have taken over the asylum"...heh, that line has been used so much to describe S2 that I see it crept into your writing. I had to laugh at Max calling Lydecker the "chief loony," though. :) I like how you include Max's "make it up as I go along" thing here. Logan - "the last boy scout" - heh, true enough. |
Kyre 7/13/02 . chapter 5Too tired tonight to leave a detailed review, but I want to say I really liked this one, as usual. Heh, I like the part where Max gets defensive to the reader - "Well, I had to do something" - and you do a great job of filling in her thought process for the other parts of the ep as well. |
willow7 6/2/02 . chapter 5Yes! So true, the first stanza that says neither Logan nor Max can cry for their own pain. We see Logan tear up a bit in C.R.E.A.M. but don't really see the tears until Max dies in his arms...he's just so darn insistent on hiding all his emotions behind this stony - and sometimes sarcastic - facade.
Was there any doubt Max would have gone back to Logan's? I didn't get the sense that she would have, if Bling hadn't nudged her along. She was dealing with her own turmoil after meeting Zack, and she hadn't yet learned that she could lean on Logan for some emotional support like she does later in the season.
"Together yet alone." Sums that last scene up *perfectly*. Hope your muse returns soon. ) This is really wonderful. |
Psycho Goddess 5/15/02 . chapter 5Lovely Kas:) I eally like all your poems, and they just keep getting better. Keep up the good work:) |
broken-words 5/14/02 . chapter 5Wow...this was very well-written! You capture the character's beautifully within a sentence or two. Awesome, keep it up! |
darkness3 5/14/02 . chapter 5It's just old little me. This was really good! I liked the thought of the sky crying instead of them. It's just... beautiful. |
