Newbie's perspective: Good if you've read a few Ranmafics but aren't quite to the "Ranmafic Hobbyist" level. Unfortunetly, even though it's pretty good, it hasn't been updated in almost three years at the time of this writing.

Ranmafic Hobbyist's Perspective: This fic seems to be bad, at first, and you'll be tempted to write it off, until Nabiki notices this and starts to investigate. Unfortunately, the end of Chapter Two comes all to quickly just as the fic starts to get interesting.

Ranmafic Obsessive's Perspective: Good to have read it, but nothing to go out of your way unless the author starts updating it.

You guessed right: I was thinking of the Queen of Hearts. (*defensively* Hearts are red, aren't they?!) Whoops!

As far as I can tell, your depiction of Adam Douglas' creation is dead on, with the minor addition of Takahashi-style slapstick. I could easily believe Adam Douglas wrote the earlier description of the human race (and I'm not 100% sure he didn't, you're so good.)

The real question is: Where did the Waffies come from???

The red queen had her quirks its true, but without her help, Alice could not have become queen herself and left the looking glass world. Like many of the characters in the two Alice books (and in Ranma 1/2 for that matter) the red queen has her good and bad points. She is almost intolerably strict but she more or less has to be to give Alice a good kick in the rear to get her going. This is where Akane and the red queen are similar. This is of course my interpretation and if I can get the revision done (its already been lost to the data monsters once) I will explain it better or ax it.

The Red Queen of Through the Looking Glass is not the same as the Queen of Hearts of Alice in Wonderland. If someone points a gun to your head and asks you if the Red Queen ever said "Off with her head" the correct answer is "no."

You can find the books online for free if you do a search (At least you could when I did it) and they're no longer than a good sized fanfic miniseries. As an added plus they're complete and have pictures! :-)

Nice story; just one thing, though: if it was ME, I wouldn't like being compared to the Red Queen (and not just because I'm male). I haven't actually read the book, bit I have it on good authority that she totally irrational and more violent than Akane herself.

well this story is really neat so far. i actually like the quick resolution onto something new and exciting. the bathroom was hilariously done. thanks for the laugh. anyway i look forward to seeing another chapter and thank you for sharing.

I agree with your assessment at the end of chapter 2 that chapter 1 needs some work. However, chapter 2 is a rather fine piece of writing. I haven't laughed so much since originally reading the Hitchhiker's series! Chapter 2 blends Ranma and Douglas Adam's series quite well with hilarious results. Keep up the good work!

This reads too much like the routines of a certain well-known nightclub comic (who shall remain anonymous), that professes to tell stories about other comics, but ends up being little more than a repetition of their gags. I think I liked all the jokes better in the original stories.

That was a truly odd fic. The beginning was profound, the entire story was well written and that my little pony comment sent me into hystarics. Congradulations, you have managed to comibine true oddness with *gasp* a good plot! Bravo!

I stopped reading when the ghoul said Kuno was "not enough woman to be a man". That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If I were Ranma I would have laughed in her face when it came to that. She's just talking in circles.
