I've got to agree with Al. Jogging in the summer, especially when it's really hot, does not sound like a good idea. Even being outside in that kind of weather is iffy. Surely there's some indoor place he can go? Less chances of things like that happening, too.

Awesome story. I just got caught up on the last 4 chapters. Very well written. The emotions between Al and Sam were right on.

Now I will have to read "Home For Christmas" again.

I can relate to how Sam feels about his pillow; I take mine with me when I go to visit my sisters (I even take my favorite blanket) and I am definately older than the age Sam is here.

Poor Sam, he just wants to get out and do things like normal. Wonder if he will try to sneak out like a kid would. How would he react to the loud noises of the fireworks in person, hmmm.

Wow. Just got caught up from the weekend. It was great to see all the updates.

I have never been hospitalized, but I work in a hospital and I'm not sure I would like to be a patient. Not that there is anyhting wrong with the place, cause it is a wonderful hospital, but if you get the wrong nurse, or he/she is having a bad day... not a good thing. They do get testy. I must say though that our kitchen serves some mighty tasty meals. Why they are so good that the UPS, FedEx, and USPS drivers all eat lunch here.

Any how, love the relationship beteen Al & Sam. Sometimes it does seem like Al is his father.

"He's a good friend," Thelma commented as she watched her son start to eat his lunch.

"The best, Mom," Sam quickly agreed. "He's the best."
