catwalkingowl 5/9/12 . chapter 6
Oh I'm so happy I found your fictions! I read a story some time ago and I just saw your reply for my comment. And well -that lead me to a gold mine ;) . This is wonderful! I love your writing! And about Molly! I agree. This is exactly how I imagined her. She is a pure blood and I always saw her being a little bit - well like that. but ofcouse she only means well. Anyway I love this. You are brilliant. And Remus' and Sirius' friendship is so ... beautiful. I love how you protray their characters. I can't wait to read more from your stories. :) Thank you!
Kitten Kisses 1/28/12 . chapter 6
[It was odd, how different that sounded when someone else said it.] Ah, quite so, quite so. That she even thinks that says SO MUCH about how far she's come.

[And then he froze, staring blankly at his hand. The hand that had actually been patting Molly Weasley on the shoulder. She must have been so distressed that she forgot to be afraid of him.] Wow, this is really sad. I mean, that he thinks that's the only reason she didn't go running away, you know? I hate that Percy did that to his mum, that's just really horrible, but it's good that Remus told her what he thought, that he didn't think Percy would do anything horrid like join the Death Eaters.

[Sirius tried not to think too hard about the implications of ending up in the same category as Molly Weasley.] This is kind of sad but also, wow, because in the end she's the one that gets revenge for him, even if that's not the reasoning behind her killing Bellatrix.

[Sirius raised an eyebrow. "It'd be good to have another Auror on our side." Shacklebolt just grinned mysteriously and made his way up the stairs.] Hee. I always thought it was Moody who brought Tonks in but Shacklebolt is just as good, really. I love Kingsley.

Snape's biggest downfall is really that he holds onto things. Sirius was a right git when he was a kid, but taunting him when Snape KNOWS he can't do anything more is just horrible. This is proof that not all adults grow up fully. Snape ended up doing some really amazing stuff, but he should honestly have laid off Sirius, or tried harder. Sirius did have it rough.

["You and James were the best friends I ever had, in all my life."] Aww...this is sad.

["I will not have you leaving this house without a hot meal." She gave the sleeve a sharp tug. "You are to come downstairs right now and join the rest of us for supper. Is that understood?"] ALL THE TEARS EVER. I love Molly.

And I love seeing Remus getting taken care of. He's had way too little love in his life, so some more is just ...necessary.

And the last line. ;_; Even more weepy teary-eyed wimpy-ness on my end. This was a great story. I really, really enjoyed it. And I'll go check out your WIP because obviously I'm impatient and will never be able to wait to see it posted here.

Cheers!

Kitten Kisses 1/28/12 . chapter 5
["I don't need looking after—" Remus began.] I got a bit teary around this part, too. Even if Remus doesn't need looking after, Sirius needs to look after someone, he needs to feel useful.

[All of this sounded like rather a lot for someone to have to be used to, no matter how tough he might be.] Oh, Molly, you're coming around. ;_;

[Now, halfway up the dank stairway, Sirius thought about Remus facing this alone, month after month, for fourteen years.] Especially without wolfsbane at all, that had to have been really hard for him. It was difficult when he was still a lad, too, but as a man it could have just gotten worse. I mean, especially after he got used to his friends being around.

I take it he doesn't have wolfsbane in this instance, by the way?

[Not so very much older than Bill, really.] Awww. :')

Another great chapter. I'm glad Molly is warming up to Remus.
Kitten Kisses 1/28/12 . chapter 4
[Somehow, she couldn't imagine Remus ever shouting at all.] Of course not. He's so mild-mannered.

[Only then did Molly realise that she had been standing right next to him.] This is so sad, but it shows she's making progress. Go Molly!

[What made him angriest of all was that he knew they were right.] Yeah, this is really kind of sad. I mean, in the end, he never did get to leave the house much. He finally got out of one prison to be put into another kind of prison. I mean obviously being in the family home would be better than being in Azkaban- he could see his friends and such- but still.

[He would have been too afraid of losing their friendship to take that kind of risk.] He definitely grew up.

[People who held strong opinions about werewolves were not, in his experience, likely to change their minds.] This is sad but understandable. I'm glad Bill showed up and was immediately super positive to Remus. He's getting a few happy surprises in his life, however small and insignificant they may seem.
Kitten Kisses 1/28/12 . chapter 3
Okay, so I'm finally at the chapter I ended up in the middle of when I realized reviewing was good and it keeps an author moving. Your published/updated dates, by the way, are amazingly close together, so I can only assume you already had this finished before you posted it? Am I right?

Anyway, I meant to say at the start that a really believable, really good friendship between Remus and Sirius isn't something I've seen a lot of, but this story so far has painted their relationship in a light I find really believable. I also LOVE what you've done with Molly. She's such a lovely woman, really, but the St. Mungo's incident with the other werewolf did make me go, "Eh?" a bit because she seems so fond of Remus that it's a bit embarrassing that she'd be all shocked about the other guy.

That said, it's so nice that Sirius gets irate on Remus's behalf, and I think my first favorite line in this chapter was: [Moony wasn't twenty-one any more. Sirius forgot that, sometimes. Now he stared at the greying hair, at the new lines carved into a once familiar face. At the brown eyes whose spark of laughter had suddenly been replaced by weary resignation.] I'm surprised you went with brown eyes for Remus, because I think most people go with blue, though I'm not sure why. (Maybe his television actor? AFAIK, the books never say. But I do like brown for his eye color, personally.)

Anyway, the above quotation is just really sad but it's also very...true. And the little flashback of a young Remus asking his peers not to tell anyone because [If people find out, that's the end. I'll never finish school, never find a job—never have a chance to prove I'm just as good as everyone else."] My God that's so saddening and terrible, but it's so true, and at such a young age he already Gets It. Was he ever really a kid?

The little background bit about the seeds of doubt and how they began to spread? Wonderfully done. Even his horrible little flat.

[Sirius broke into a boyish grin that erased years from his gaunt face. "Look, Hermione. He remembers me!"] My eyes got a little watery. I remember when I was reading the books that I bet a little love, even from a pet, would just do wonders for Sirius.

Hermione's insistence is just really sweet. She's not exactly a sweet person but her passion for equal rights is really awesome, and I always feel like she's where it's at. That she can't stand someone being treated unfairly must warm Remus a little bit, at least. I know he loves those kids, so for them to be so firmly on his side much really mean a lot.

[Fred went green.] I'd go green, too. Didn't Ron get all creeped out? I mean, imagine that your pet was really a person, you'd be freaked the heck out forever about that. Have nightmares, too, I bet.

[And then he realised that both of the twins were gazing, with expressions of profound awe, not only at Sirius—but at him, too.] Awww.

A lovely chapter, definitely.
Kitten Kisses 1/28/12 . chapter 2
It's so sad that Molly has these prejudices but really, can she help it? I love that you write her but don't turn her into some kind of horrible person for her thoughts, and that she's trying to get over it but it's not easy for her.

Nice job with her thoughts regarding Percy, too, the little git. But at the same time I can see where he's coming from, too. The kid grew up poor as heck and probably is just remarkably excited at getting a promotion and though he's wrong in wanting to keep things the same instead of doing what's right.

I really liked the little bit about Molly being pleased which side all the rest of her children took. The pride she has for her kids just really shone through, there. Made me a bit teary. :D
Kitten Kisses 1/28/12 . chapter 1
I got up to chapter three before I remembered that reviewing is in good taste and for a really great chaptered story, I really ought to review every chapter! Forgive me if my reviews kind of suck.

I really like the quotes at the beginning of each chapter, because I think they add flavour to the story. The beginning of this works rather well, too, it's easy to get into and not hard to understand.

The explanation of how Remus and Sirius began corresponding again? Brilliant. It would be like Remus to blame himself, the bloody fool, but then again, if he had just taken that wolfsbane potion, a lot could have been avoided, and Sirius would have been a free man.

My favorite part, though, is that Remus has this perfect situation. Well, to him, in his mind, it's perfect. He has a place to live that isn't too bad, he has enough money for food, though it's not much, and he can transform and not worry overmuch. This is probably the best he's lived aside from Hogwarts in years.

And then he leaves it all. He is a great guy, really. (And this was a lovely start to the story.)

it's done? Huh? *cocks head to side and blinks rapidly*

Well, I always wondered what they did with Beaky. Thanks for that. I like your way.

Loved this final chapter! :) Molly's transition was certainly gradual and convincing enough... now, off to read Kaleidoscope :)
tt crews 11/23/11 . chapter 6
"Bloodthirsty monster." Molly has come a long way just to HEAR the words, really hear them, and further still to recognize the prejudice in them.

Brava! You have brought her a long way.

"Remus steeled himself and met the curious grey eyes straight on. "I don't want to lose you again, Padfoot." The scene between Sirius and Remus is all kinds of "aaahhhh". Remus has traveled, too. He had to steel himself, but he was, at last, able to say it.

This is lovely. Your characters have grown and changed. And not because of some big revelation, but through living daily with the things that push them on.

I've looked in on Kaleidoscope and it is well worth it. Looking forward to the finished version.

Kuri333 11/22/11 . chapter 6
This is a fantastic last chapter. I hate that it has to end, but it's the way it is, I guess.

I was still hoping for a cameo appearance of Tonks, but I'll check her out at you livejournal.

Fantastic story, great take, I loved the PoV changes and how everybody was in character.

Thanks for sharing it!

Cheers!
