interesting chapter but I have to ask why doesn't Elie just ask him out herself? Also I want to point out that requited love means he returns her feelings, unrequited love means it's one sided.

don't worry about things being boring. The first chapter is usually entirely a set up, just to establish things. I'll stick aroung to see where this goes.
