Reviews for: The Reverse of Faith
Enaid Aderyn 10/30/11 . chapter 1
Oh my goodness. This is shudderingly creepy, and really, really plausible. Yes, faith corrupted by human poison becomes insane zealotry. And evil delivered with a tender, motherly smile is *always* horrifying on a deeply visceral level.

And that last glimpse of Irving... eesh...[hides under covers].

Fantastic answer to the challenge. (can I come out, now?)

Creepy. And quite believable. Wynne is that type - always so perfect and just that you have to start wondering what dark secrets she hides. Who knows how many she murdered, in the name of the Faith...

And the end, with Irving's eyes shining... true horrors never end.

I LOVED this! O.O

Sorry that it's taken me this long to read and review as I haven't had access to the computer for a week now, but this is just so well done, and subtle...

Cullen and Diana are like hand and glove in my eyes...they seem to fit together so perfectly. Can I say that I didn't shed a tear for Wynne without sounding terribly mean? _

Definitely a fave...and re-readable!

Excellent! :D

Thoroughly creepy...I'm so glad I didn't read this after dark...Irving's eyes shining at the end...clearly the Spirit of Faith prefers an elderly vessel to inhabit. Hm, are you trying to tell us something here? Burning everything that Wynne has ever touched added an extra chilling moment.

And yay for Cullen!

Yes!

If Anders can house Justice and have it twist into Vengeance, then so too can Wynne house "Faith" and have it twist into zealotry.

Wynne is- I liked her my first play-through, honestly, but the more I played, the more I talked to her, the more suspicious I got. Yes, she's a cuddly old woman, but... She's so incredibly proud, to the point of presumption. She doesn't even know what type of spirit she's housed- she believes that it's a spirit of faith, and she believes that she's so special that she's the only one that has ever seen its like. Maybe I'm remembering the dialogue wrong, but I don't ever remember her actually saying that the spirit told her it was Faith. It could be Hope or Pride or pretty much anything.

I still like her, but she's got nerve. She lectures the Warden on what it means to be a Grey Warden and on pretty much everything else. I don't know, really, but I could totally see her being fooled and taking a demon on board- and I could also see her then flipping out and taking out a bunch of apprentices.

But then again, I don't have Faith: I'm a cynic. ;)
Shakespira 10/27/11 . chapter 1
I still have goosebumps. That was truly haunting, made more so by how believable the words spoken by the spirit were, how close the line between demon and spirit. How tempting both can be. And well, Wynne's very perfection is what makes her dangerous. It isn't real, such perfection isn't real.

This: In the Fade, the demons had scared her. But the lessons never end, don't trust anyone, the trials are never-ending, keep your wits about you, mage. There must be some irony in trusting demon and Templar.

Perfectly stated.

And the last line? Still shivering over that. Mesmerizing and haunting and an incredible answer to the challenge.

I think that was more than suitably scary for the Halloween challenge. An interesting take on Wynne's Fade spirit.

Creepy Wynne is creepy. *shudder*
