Great story! I love how you introduced the "battle" and the excitement and tension with which you wrote. Great job of researching the rules and terminology, too.

I love the nineteenth century take on baseball. The game has evolved over the years but you have given us the version which Slim and Jess would have known. Different rules, more fist fights, and I loved seeing them both plowed at the end. Very amuseing.
