Sad. But happy sad, if that even makes half sense. It's like it's happy... And it's sad. I know right? Mind. Blown. I'm sorry, I didn't cry. There are only 2 fanfics that have ever made me cry: A Moment and A Thousand Summers. (There was another one, but my baby sister deleted, like, half my bookmarks. So idk the name, but it's MarshBall and it's about Gumball being old and having alzehimers and forgetting everything and everybody, including Marshall. It's way sad.) Anyway, I really liked this story. Bubye, I gotta go eat pizza!

AWESOMENESS

Found this after a long, hard slog of trying to find good Adventure Time fanfics of Marceline/Fin romance, and this was a great find! I'm usually not one for songfics, but this was well-done. It helped that the songs were actually being played in-story instead of being simply mood-setters.

As a whole, this was a fairly bittersweet story in a very cute way; the way Finn and Marceline ended up together was quite reasonable and fitting (apparently Bubblegum's got her share of sourness). It was sad for it to end with Marceline alone again, but there's still a sweet feel to it, as she seems to be acknowledging the good times and explicitly thinking of non-lonely times to come.

Marceline's inner narrative seemed very authentic. Bit of Original Flavor the way she was talking; it felt a lot like stuff she might well say in-show. (Also, she apparently has a bit of a short attention span for an immortal; she can't even tell when Finn's quoting her! Which is hiliarious.)

Marceline's way of declaring her intentions for Finn - kissing him in a somewhat posessive way - is very fitting for her, and rather cute besides. I can very easily see her as the kind of woman whose reaction towards potential threats to her romantic interest is basically to go "MINE MINE MINE!".

Minor note; I thought it was cool the way Jake responded to her showing up out of the blue. He's come a long way from when he ran away at the sight of her. Marceline probably misses those days a bit.

As a rule, I'm not really against any of the well-known Adventure Time shippings, though this story does help suggest two of my personal theories; that Bubblegum may be somewhat unsuited to Finn because of their very different personalities and interests (then again, if she went full-blown mad scientist FOR SCIENCE, it would be a different story, perhaps) while Marceline and Finn are suited to one another because they both love adventure.

So, to sum up, the ending was sad but the sweet moments was worth it. Which is a fairly fitting metaphor for the story as a whole.

But besides all the humor this was a really cool story. Your vocabulary really makes this story for me. It just sounds so good when Marcie or Finn or anybody is speaking.

I kind of feel bad for not knowing any of thesong/bands you used in this. I guess I'll look them up later.
