This is a well written backround story for Jim Kirk's past (namly, his time Tarsus IV). George Kirk and Robert April's characters are both well written (I guess you based them on the novel "Final Frontier"?).

Beautifully done! Much applause! Have you read "Best Destiny" by Diane Carey? This reminded me of that a bit. (If you havent read it, you should, its incredible). I can definitely see those two having that kind of conversation - vividly. I want to know more, though! Did they get to Tarsus IV on time? Why was Jimmy in trouble? (In case you havent noticed, I'm not exactly up on all the Trek canon. I still havent seen half the first season, much to my chagrin.) Give a girl a break and write a sequel!...Please?

Hahaha! *I* remember when this challenge went out... that was quite some time ago. As I recall, though, very few people considered any Kirks other than James T., and I don't believe I saw any others with George. Nice touch; makes the story stand out.

I'd like to see a sequel to this...IS there one? If not, there should be!

Hey Syl, really good story. The title really caught my eye. :) I believe you must have read the very enjoyable Star Trek novel (whose name escapes me damn it) about the first voyage of Enterprise with George Kirk and Robert April commanding. I believe it was Dianne Carey who wrote it and it was one of the best novels I ever read. I can honestly say the author of that novel could easily be replaced by you as you are just as good.

Mercy! Ah do believe this is the only story Ah have eveer read about Jim Kirk's daddy:):) Ah really liked it! His anger and despair (not to mention guilt!) over neglecting his family is powerfully portrayed and Captain Robert April as Syl has portrayed him is a friend Ah'd like to have! Definitely two thumbs up:):)

I love the classic series, and this story is excellent. I can see George and Capt. April having this type of discussion very clearly. Very nice job! :)
