I like the new chapter, it's a good counterpoint to Finch's

I like what you've started here. What a person notices, the thoughts that run through their heads, are very rarely fully articulate or cohesive, unless they are specifically sitting and running things through their mind. This feels like we just got a peek inside of Finch, that tiny corner of his mind that is paying attention to his new partner. I can't wait to see what the next chapter holds.

I like it, a what if story.

This is bare bones which doesn’t give me a lot of confidence in your story. The inner monologue by Finch feels way too clunky for someone of his intelligence remember he is a computer genius. But noting how he doesn’t know how to react to pop culture references is a good start.

Show don’t tell that is what makes a great story/fanfiction.
