 beautiful-surreal 2/28/12 . chapter 12This was a very touching story. Thank you.
When I saw the summary for this story, it reminded me of my first time flying to england on my own. I was terrified to the point of wanting to run off the plane and stay with my mom. But I saw this girl standing at the door of the plane with her mother, bawling her eyes out. She'd forgotten her ticket. It was quite a commotion. She came and sat next to me, another unacompanied minor, and I saw that she was several years younger than me. Her tears dried up in seconds after she'd sat down, and I knew that she was just a very good actor.
I ended up making a deal with her. I was still terrified, and I knew that in order to calm down, either I needed to be comforted by someone who cared, or to comfort someone more scared than myself. So she took the role of pretending to be more scared than myself and let me comfort her until the plane lifted off.
I gave her a cut of crystal I had with me at the time with the velvet bag I'd made that it was in to thank her when the plane was landing. If she hadn't been there, I probably would've hyperventilated and started crying. So thanks to her. |
