anyway! I really liked it! I've always been fascinated by Katsura's quiet ways!

Another excellent tale, Sirius! I love the way you write Katsura-san. So cool, thoughtful, and insightful about his hitokiri. And how that peeves Yamagata-san. There are so many nice bits of phrasing in here that if I attempted to mention each one, I'd just be re-writing this. Thanks for finding it and posting it. I've missed stories from you (since RK is about the only thing I read here). I'm looking forward to any updates on the existing tales, too. Bring it on! :)

Very happy to see you writing ruroken again. I found this exchange between Katsura and Yamagata very plausible. I especially liked the astuteness of the observation that Katsura was their last tie to Kenshin. I hope you keep writing.

This was really cool. I can't remember having read anything from Yamagata Aritomo's perspective before. It's quite interesting to see his view of Battousai.

This was such a great read! I have such a soft spot for Katsura; I feel like he is a severely overlooked and under appreciated character.

I have a Yamagata fic somewhere where he's dying at the absurdly advanced age at which he actually did so, and Kenshin's there. Also very very old. And there are tensions because the conscript army was Yamagata's baby and got Kaoru's father killed before the series even starts, and I wouldn't be surprised if Kenji or his children or one of Yahiko's children had been drafted and killed overseas by the thirties. It's much weirder than this.

/Nice/ dialogue. Katsura's characterization was good. And the moment of horror from Yamagata at the thought that Kenshin might be so far gone he needed exterminating. And a little exchange on the nature of trust. Very nice.

Also the dryness about the killing spree details. This, that, he'd grown by three feet...

Thank you for fine-tuning and posting this :) I love Katsura fics and this is one of the better ones. Yamagata's view of Katsura and his private agendas and dealings with Kenshin are particularly fascinating. Katsura's throwaway comment: "He's already dealt with another 'liability' of mine." was brilliant.

Love this oblique look at Kenshin. One thing I love about the series is how the people from his past react to him 10 years on. He's still just as idealistic (though a bit messed up), while they've moved on, "grown up" and settled into the new realities of life.

This short work is very nice in the way the character looking for Kenshin remains skeptical until Katsura shows him the swords with such obvious regret. His growing realization feels more natural for his stubborn refusal to accept Katsura's word up till then.

I'm so glad to see you writing another Kenshin story.

Very interesting! You explored a character that often goes unnoticed in the RK fandom. I also really liked the part where Yamagata tells Katsura that if he asked Kenshin to come back, that he would. I'd never even considered that...it's interesting to think about the extent of Kenshin's loyalty...anyways, thanks for the fic! I can't wait to see more of your RK stuff!
