I agree, this is some really great UST. I appreciate this fic highly, because in canon we see very little of this phase of their relationship from Van's POV so seeing him get all hot and bothered over Stef like this is awesome. I like how he's a little more knowing than in canon, too.

Tbh I'm not sure Yfandes would have pressed her opinion like that, because she's much less forward/more subtle about the Stef thing in canon. (Although I've noticed that in general you favour more disclosure between the characters than there is in canon, which is fine in that it gives you more opportunities to comment on canon which is THE MAIN POINT OF WRITING FIC IMO).

Why is Van such a loveable idiot sometimes? Damn, you're good at portraying sexual tension. Van is so awkward in this, and I love it when he gets knocked down a peg or two, and is forcably reminded that he's more (less?) than his Gifts and titles.
