This... this was amazing. A work of art. I loved reading through. The characters were perfectly executed and I could see the situations as authentic. I was originally looking for a pure gwevin story, but the ben factor was actually really you for the story. :)

Fantastic, wonderful story. Your raw talent with storytelling is stunning; every paragraph is like a perfectly woven tapestry of words, never awkward or overbearing, never lacking in detail or sudden. There's this emotion you invoke in each chapter - not like a whirlwind, but more like the subtle twist of knobs in the human mind, helping us feel what you want us to without ever telling us that we should be feeling that way. Having followed this story from the beginning, the end of this chapter struck me; I went back and re-read the rest, and now I'm just enamored with the theme of warmth. Kevin giving Ben warmth in Antarctica. Kevin drawing warmth from his friends as he was trapped in stone. Kevin enraged at the warmth being stolen from Gwen. Kevin content in the warmth his friends freely, unthinkingly offer to him.

I admit that the final chapter hits home to me, because I myself am a person who craves physical contact from those I care about (and nobody else). I love it when I'm sitting close enough to a loved one for our sides to brush, or when their hand is on my arm, or when I can put my arm across their shoulder. It seems like all of it is so unthinking and natural to them, but it's the most wonderful thing in the world for me. I know exactly how Kevin feels surrounded by Gwen and Ben, and there really is nothing better for those of us who seek it out. I thank you for portraying that so wonderfully.

But, I ramble. I'm a fan of many of your other stories (yet have only hauled ass to review this one; shame on me), and I just want to say thank you for bringing me many hours of beautiful, amazing fic. I salute you.

First, good choice of movie for them to watch. I love the original 'The Thing.' It's brilliant and scary in ways that don't require gore to freak the viewer out, and Ben's "No, not the puppies!" whine is absolutely priceless. Gwen wouldn't have said, it, but Ben can definitely get away with it.

Second, Kevin's whole touchy-feely thing explained and rationalized was just wonderful. There were so many funny and so many 'aww!' moments contained in his interaction with Max. This whole fic has been a wonderful study of character and friendship, and I truly hope you have a lot more in store for us.

You made me cry. God dammit, the epilogue made me freaking cry. I've never cried at fanfic before. I barely ever do at anything, it took the end of Toy Story 3 to get a tear of out me.

Can't review the whole thing right now, mainly because I'm at a loss for words, but I'll tell you this- this is officially my favorite fanfic ever. Heck, it's one of my favorite pieces of literature ever. 3

I don't possess the eloquence to properly put what I feel after reading this into words but I shall aspire to do so...

For starters, I was laughing throughout Kevin's entire interaction with Max (although I found Max's implied bi-curiosity extremely disconcerting!) and we're not talking giggles- these were all out rib-crushing gasps of laughter! Your rationalization for the 'touching' is brilliant! I just... you amaze me!

Thank you!

:O)

This is my favorite fanfiction in this category for this pairing (although at the beginning I wasn't sure if we might swerve into BenxKevin territory...lol). Honestly, that's what made this chapter so great. Your investigation into the sometimes complex relationship Kevin has with the Tennysons is, in my opinion, wonderfully articulated, completely enthralling, and incredibly dimensional. This is a great Christmas present for the community and I simply can't wait for the next, even if it has to be the last.

What I liked most about this - besides all the lovely techno-babble - was Kevin' let's say dilemma over getting touchy-feely with Ben. After the previous chapter, when touch became such an important sensation for Kevin, it made sense that he should be so much more aware of it and the possible implications. I liked that both Ben and Gwen were aware of Kevin's sudden aversion to Ben, too. That boy's not so oblivious or dense as he lets on! There was great characterization and devlopment throughout. Well done!

You're brilliant.

I'm not referring to artistic talent, which you obviously posses in spades.

I'm referring to raw, calculated, intellect.

I have no idea how many of your readers are going to appreciate the neurons demanded to articulate your description of the devices Kevin was fixing in his car. I was flabbergasted by that!

Never mind the thought process that went into painting the energy sphere and sun that contained Gwen or the alien sub-planitary environment.

Then there's your obvious understanding of the human psyche, which is crystalline in Kevin's qualms with his propensity for touching his best friend after his ordeal as a statue for a day and his worries about being in love with his girlfriend over her infinite power. I must say, I have tread that line of thought myself and briefly acknowledged it in the epilogue to one of my own writings.

Your writing humbles me.

It inspires me.

It entertains me to such extremes as an intellect.

Thank you.

Hooo. Cool. Interesting with the touching thing and Kevin's idea of what's normal. Heh. Getting paranoid he may have subconscious UST because of increasing physicality to friendship, and even more paranoid he has subconscious energy vampirism. You treated that with I think just the appropriate level of seriousness, so he wasn't raising an unnecessary fuss, and wasn't being blase, and also was behaving like himself.

...if he was in a desert island scenario, could he survive by absorbing light, like a sideways approach to photosynthesis? Would he consider that taboo, even if it worked? Apparently it would accelerate his progress toward being crazy old Ben from Treasure Island, and for all I know he'd rather starve than survive to be rescued and live as a cracked junkie the rest of his life. Uh, there seems to be the thumbnail of a story in this review. You're just really inspiring.

Anyway, the rabbit aliens and their problem, and their responses, were well structured. I really enjoy this story. I watched just enough of this show years back to have no difficulty following, and you've got all the bits I liked pulled together and improved. Whoot.
Kirai-Ninja 12/23/11 . chapter 3
I loved this chapter! It was excellent and very in-character, especially Kevin's worries that he might be subconsciously using Ben or Gwen!

I loved this - the only thing that could have made it better would be Kevin(reluctantly) explaining why he'd been ignoring them, and Gwen and Ben easing his worries.

Merry Christmas!
