"...Not to mention, at his age, he understood more than a bit what perpetual heat felt like." ... lol, this sentence reminded me of a scene from "Queer as Folk", when Brian says about Justin: "at his age he could rub against a tree and get a hard-on" :'D

As I've already said, we're still on a strictly propaedeutic level, the text is very detailed and as always you bedecked the descriptions with your amazing vocabulary choices; besides your authorial decisions created a perfect rythm. But it's not just about your linguistic/anthological abilities ... there's also a particular verve in this fiction, I personally find it very different from your other stories, it has a unique taste; your writing style here is not the same you use for OAP or DWS; to me, in this story your style is crisp and hefty (in a positive way), while your usual style is more linear, elegant and reflective. I like how you consciously play with this, it shows your amazing ability to interpret every piece in accordance with its essence. It's brilliant. You are brilliant.

I like how shrewd your hand is in the incipient parts of this story (I've already read till chapter 9, bad reviewer that I am ...); however, as a reader, I can't help but notice again your aversion towards Hatori; it's a sensation that struck me en passant though, so it didn't prevent me from enjoying the dynamics of this chapter; the way you described the approach of Hatori and Yuu towards Chiaki was so detailed and easy to visualize. Yuu's sweet offers and Hatori's last-ditch effort to conquer the sweet Neko molded an interaction that "redirected" (can't find a better verb, damn!) the readers to that animosity that is one of the leitmotifs of the canon story: Hatori with his nervous insecurity, Yuu with his sweeter approach. As you can see, it's not a critique; it's just normal to breath life into the characters proposing them in accordance with our personal interiorization of their personality. I see Hatori differently, but that doesn't mean that your perceptions are wrong (obviously).

Well, the way you have captured certain atmospheres here is spectacular and consequently you created a specific and realistic aura; this "neko world" is acquiring a stronger structure thanks to your narratological choices; there's a different air, but at the same time, everything is so familiar. It's amazing the fact that you have everything in your mind ... you show us this microcosm little by little to create something that flows smoothly: it's necessary a pretty amazing spectrum of ideas, a great mental/textual association and ... the atmospheres coalesce with the written word; the narration becomes a scenic tour in places that are not marked on the map

And the ending is just hilarious: ("Then simultaneously the two men bolted for the entrance of the pet store. Like high school boys fleeing school, they jostled each other at the door. Somehow the pair managed to push through the door together. They burst into Sato's shop, startling the proprietress. Sato had been talking with her assistant, who had just returned from lunch.

"I WANT THAT KITTEN IN THE WINDOW!" Yanase and Hatori shouted in unison.) ... ahahahah :'D

I've been meaning to read this work of yours for a long time, and now here I am ... spamming your review board even in the Sekakoi world (wait ... I've already spammed "Celebrations" ... oh well :p). After reading the first chapter I felt the strangest desire to say: "Oh, oh, I tawt I taw a puddy tat"... ah you and your Chimerical boys have a bad influence on me...

I liked how you lingered in the description of the characters so as to give your readers a concrete background for the story. Wonderful job with showing that each one of them, in their own way, wanted to be accepted...it was very touching and profound.
Ah, and I really loved the canon elements, you are always able to add them seamlessly in your AUs

And my beloved Yokozawa ... who is a mute spectator of an ideological and flamboyant stage (and maybe, exactly because pregnant of this awareness ... he's the main character of the play...)
