RAWR ENCORE ENCORE! I love this so far! But, your sentences tend to run-on and I suggest using more periods than commas. Though your plot is awesome! Also, if Shang DOESN'T know Mulan's mother is dead, when he figures out {Which he is bound to do!} don't be too direct about it, like...

MULAN: MAH MOTHER DIED SHANG AND I'M DEPRESSED

You also have a little bit of a problem directly stating the problem in conversations. Just do a VERY VERY VERY *emphasis* little amount of dancing. It might just be run on sentences make it seem more direct, I don't know. But in so far, you're doing wonderfully! You just need people to give you helpful criticism!
Mind you, I didn't want to make you feel bad about your writing, so I put in some stuff to make you laugh!

I have to agree with readergirl... Making mulan jealous would be really interesting.. However I don't want to make their love for each other too obvious...at least in the beginning.. It's better to have the two of them flirt a bit, before declaring feelings...unfortunately i've read many stories having them falling in love from the very first chapter, and i hate that! :( but your story seems reeeeeaaaaallyyyyyy nice! I hope to read the rest of it soon and finished, so that i can put it to my favs list!

So I really like it so far :) I think one of the princesses should be especially good at the training, and Mulan gets a little jealous of her when Shang praises her. And of course, eventually Mulan and Shang need to realize they are in love... oh and Mulan needs to be promoted.. defintley. :)

Aw, it's a shame about Mulan's mother :'( I'd HATE you to kill off any of her other family, and would LOVE it if you'd show how they were getting on whilst Mulan's away :) Update soon!
