Thanks for all the loverly reviews! The second chapter is in Entling (the child)'s point of view...but that becomes clear in the third one...sorry!

About this third chapter: I probably completely screwed up the Ents. They don't have very long in the books to get acquainted...so I probably made him say 'Hoom' too much. Such are the vagaries and vulgarities of an amateur! :-D

Please, don't stop writing this. I might only complain that the chapters are, tantalizingly, much too short... so PLEASE! I AM BEGGING YOU! MORE! Yes, it's good! It's so great to finally read a LotR fic that looks like someone not only ran a spell-check on it (THANK ERU), but actually read the books, loves Tolkien, and is truly attempting to write something worthy of being associated with his work.
