This is a fine story, but it left me cold and numb. I didn't even care that Sydney killed herself. I think I should have cared, but maybe I was where Sydney was when she swallowed the pills.

Oh, Diana. You evil, evil child genius. I read this the day you posted, but didn't review because I was in a funk. So thank you for kicking me in the butt and reminding me to come back. There are lots of brilliant moments here: "She sits, staring at the box in front of her. At the bottle. At her future." "She swallows them methodically, one pill, one sip, until all twenty are gone." Your writing in this story has a rhythem, a cadance to it that I really like. The subject matter is dark, but handled with care - no melodrama, just enough anger. I'm envious of Kat - she gets to beta for you, and read all the good stuff before we get to see it!

Beautiful. You can almost feel the angst and tragedy oozing from the powerful words. I'm gonna cry now.

No hating here either :) Very "worst case scenario"...definitely "could" happen, nice how you explored it.

there wasnt really a lot of detail to this but the way you wrote it made it feel so real, like i was watching it happen. go you. go you.

this would be a great final ending to alias. really angsty and depressing. it would leave people so depressed. esp. since vaughn and syd were together and then they died. i like this and will be reading several more times. :)

Wow. Your description here was excellent, but what I really loved was the way you built for each death. I really felt every one.

wonderful imagery, detail, description...very vivid sensations. Very in the moment, and that's hard to do. I especially liked the line:

"memories that are no longer alive, and yet they breathe against her neck in anticipation and fear." Nice work, diana.
