I cannot believe this was stopped!

I know my review is about four years overdue since the publishing of your story, but I just felt the need to say something all the same. Hope you don't mind me taking up some of your time..

First of all, I have to say that I love the descriptions. Your imagery is so powerful, having the ability to paint not just the surrounding environments, but also managing to capture the essence and mood of the scene as well. I feel myself being sucked into Ryu's memories, standing right next to him as he relives the past..it's just amazing. Oh, and while I'm on the subject, I also enjoyed the way you wrote from Ryu's point of view..everything sounds exactly like how it would if the reader was able to look through his eyes. Nicely done.

The subtle humour in this piece of yours was yet another thing that I really liked about it. Every time I encountered it, it brought a smile to my face, be it the image of Ryu struggling to catch fish, the sheepish apology when his recollections deviate from the original plot, or the amusing conversations between the two at the end.

I'm glad to have had the chance to read something of this fandom that is of such good quality, and that is as beautiful as this..whether you do continue or otherwise, I'm looking forward to reading more of your work. 3

You characterised Ken very well, a typical American boy. Sensei is also perfect in his role, you have his philosphical nature captured beautifully. The personality of the narrator also suits the situation, simply accepting everything Sensei says without complaint. I like the way you used the line, "...Sensei had never taught me the art of making small talk." This line describes the influence Sensei has had over the narrators life, but you also showed that he still retains his childish curiosity.

I would like to know much more about these 'auras' and the scenes where "I can count on one hand all the times I've ever gotten that angry. It's not too strange he would notice, after all, he's been there every single time..."

You are correct in saying that "What young boy wants to hear that he is 'beautiful', from someone other than his mother?" Although it seems strange that Ken would become so enraged over a simple statement, as usually most people would brush it off with a not-so-nice remark to the originator of the comment. Did Ken possibly have an encounter with someone, the memories of which were brought back by the statement? Or is he just trying to be tough and unbreakable? We know a lot about the narrator's history, but what about Ken's

And, as other reviewers have asked - will it be Yaoi? If it is, I think you'll have to craft it extremely carefully to pull it off.
