Night's Darkness 1/27/12 . chapter 1Really enjoyed this. Weyoun 6 was a tragic character and I really like how you show his defectiveness being a sudden fascination with life and an increased fear of death. The food scene is almost more erotic than the sex scene I think, which is really impressive.
His grief for all the lives lost is done realistically, because it feels like, for the first time, he's not just able to read and manipulate people, but actually empathise with them and it overwhelms him in a subdued manner befitting the character.
Interesting history of the Vorta, tragic, but Weyoun's tale to Odo isn't a lie as some fics have made it. He just doesn't see the tragedy in what the Founders did to them. And I like the fact that he enjoys the Earth music.
I have one small, pedantic problem and in all honesty, it's a personal peeve rather than a mistake. Odo calling Weyoun 'human'... bothers me. I get exactly what you wanted to convey, and I really liked it, but why would Odo use human? Why not Bajoran, or even solid. After all I think he found his own pleasure in eating and drinking when he was a solid, so it would have made more sense to say he wasn't defective, he was solid.
As I said, personal peeve. All in all, lovely story. :D |
