This is an excellent take on the what if...what if Eliot were seriously injured. We all know Eliot has accepted the fact that retrieval specialist don't live long lasting lives, and he's ok with the fact. He's accepted the inevitable. That being said, your story could have ended with him slipping away, bleeding out, and the team left grieving, but you gave us just a glimmer of hope. Nice work.
