Ah, lord. It utterly astonishes me how many good fics you have. Now I have this insatiable urge to read damn near all of them now! I agree with ick factor of Rio/Rika. That was just a huge no no and Rika/Renamon was practically cannon as far as I was concerned. Bandai needed to catch onto the yuri franchise and throw it into Digimon more obviously.

Heheh, yeah, true. The "knight in shining armor" comparison instantly reminds me of one of my favorite couples, Setsuna and Konoka. (Probably because that's one of my favorite manga...and it really is one of the cutest relationships, Setsuna desperately trying to repress her "forbidden" feelings and Konoka playing innocent as usual-remember, she had learned about her magical powers long before anyone else knew that she knew-see Twenty-Seventh Period (Volume 4). I love Konoka because she's so good at making other people think she's a ditz when really she's one of the most observant characters in the series.)

Aw...so sweet. They really are a good couple. The more I think about it, Tamers really had some killer opportunities for human/Digimon pairings. There weren't so many of those in 01 and 02, although the alternate universe where Myotismon sired Hikari as a vampire was interesting. (Myself in conjunction with another author, although we're probably not the only ones to do it.) Then, of course, there was Iori/BlackWarGreymon, which had an awful lot of evidence in the anime supporting it...

I'd just like to say that this is perhaps one of my favorite fics of all time. It's rather hard to find one that both features my two favorite characters and still be very well-written. Kudos to you.

Oh, and I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but I've seen another version of this story around the site. It's seem to be copied word for word, but the title is called 'A Tale of Renamon and Rika', if I remember correctly, by an individual named Roxius. I don't know if you gave this person permission to do such a thing, but I felt that you needed to know. Hope it's nothing too bad.. .

Absolutely without-a-doubt one of the best fics it has ever been my pleasure to read and review. This is a genius story, with a great plot. I love how you described Renamon as a guardian of the forest, and how she seemed to be attuned with the nature resided within. This story shall live happily forever on in my favorites.

The story in general was all right. I've seen far better and far worse. What brings me to review are the author's note, as the author apparently seems to think the dub is 100% identical to the original, which is not so. The author also appears to fall prey to the common fanon that any time two people associate near each other, they not only are An Automatic Item, but any antangonism they have is impossible to erase and they will always hate each other. Commonly seen in fans who think Taichi and Yamato hate each other and always will, or who write Kouji as being an antisocial bastard, or Ruki as a cold hearted bitch who can only be warmed by love.

1. First off, it's Ryo, not Rio. It was in the damned episode title.

2. In case you missed it, Ryo is Ruki's *rival*. She only won the tournament she did because he wasn't *there*. Of course she's not going to like him. He's *better* than she is when it comes to the card game. However, because Ruki is capable of having some damned CHARACTER GROWTH and maturity (unlike most of the fans), she was able to *work with him* eventually. They even forged a tenous friendship based on mutual RESPECT.

3. The "love' line was pure dub. And dearheart, the Digimon *came back* so Ruki and Renamon were reunited and since she wasn't shown dating *anyone* (don't believe all those lies people claim as gospel truth about the second Tamers movie being "full" of Rukato. That's nothing but fanon wishful thinking. It's *friendship*. There's even several moments where the Renamon/Ruki connection shines quite brightly, so you'd enjoy it), you're perfectly free to believe that they wind up living in wedded bliss for all their days.

Before you start going off about how someone *obviously* feels, why don't you learn the actual background that was put there and exercise your brain?

This story is great. Just like yoor other works that I have read.

I have to agree with you on this one Shane. Rika and Renamon DID deserve to be together. Putting with Rio was a MAJOR mistake, one done to, in my opinion, to appease the major American Market for Digimon. While this story may have been a short one, as usual, you did a top notch job brining your charachters to life. I, as always, look forward to more of your work, be it here on or on FictionPress.
