This is such a bittersweet look at Garak and Ziyal's relationship. I know a lot of people think that Garak didn't feel more than a bit of affection for Ziyal, but he's such a cipher that to me it makes sense that he would be as cagey about his feelings for her as he is about the rest of his life.

I was trying to find a good fic that actually dealt with a Garak/Ziyal romance... and this was the only one I found, and it was fabulous! Thank you * Good characterization... Garak was also a favourite of mine, and I love your added bits of sarcasm... but it was also refreshing to see you depict his own sensibilities as well, which were never truly explored in the series itself.

Ziyal was also one of my favourite characters, and while her death upset me, it almost seemed to be a part of the character she was destined to be; however tragic, but necessary. And it's nice to see her death touched on in a fic as well. Wonderful job ;D

This is beautiful. I was so upset when Ziyal died, and I always wondered how Garak would have really reacted. This is a great story, well written, beautifully told, and with intimate attention to character detail.
