Aw, Jack came back! I was wondering if he would. I love how messed up and broken the whole situation is. As with anything when it comes to Torchwood, it isn't going to be fixed neatly, and I can't wait to see what how the team deals with Jack coming back.

Poor Gwen! Shew found a friend, who then has to run off to China... Which can be a scary place.

And Martha is going to be memorialized in a funny...lifty thing. Which, strangely, would make her happy.

I think Samson has a place in Torchwood.

I can tell you how sleep deprivation can mess a person up. I have a chronic sleep problem. If I get 4 whole hours of sleep in a row that's a miracle.

Chronic sleep deprivation wrecks your emotional control and ruins your judgement. It also tanks your immune system. You can also loose your job.

You don't heal as well, you get sick more often and take longer to get better. You become prone to infection. You loose your ability to deal with any sort of stress. The slightest upheaval in life becomes overwhelming. And you are not able to focus or concentrate. Or hold a sensible conversation.

All this is what Gwen has to look forward to.

Sorry I haven't commented before, but many thanks to you for writing Gwen as a human being and not a spoiled brat. I love the way you describe her without being maudlin, and give good reason for her actions. I also really like her with Martha. This chapter (8) is particularly good!

It's so sad about Rhys dying and Jack leaving and Gwen's baby (and how they were going to name her Anwen-the canon name for the baby) and everything and argh I'm getting really upset again.
