I remember those annoying teen boys. My son is 21 now, but I warned him as a teen that groups of boys do dumb things like dare each other until someone gets hurt. My son admitted a friend had once licked a pavement. See? Thankful to have Martin unafraid to tell off the unthinking boys.

It was certainly a hard blow for him. I'm glad he realised they weren't worth the effort, and we know Joan was grateful to him. Nice chapter.

Ahh! What a good place to start a story about Doc Martin. Also to see that he didn't just become the insufferable pain he is when he arrived in Cornwall.

You have successfully revealed Martin's feelings toward his parents, particularly his mother's cutting words to him. How many times did Martin have to pick up and move on from unfortunate life experiences caused by his parents.

A wonderful opportunity to see what goes on in Martins head, though probably exactly as we expected... He is a tosser, but he is our tosser, and the biggest shock of all...he is human. Wittily composed, though perhaps with a little repetition of certain phrases (color me suprised, etc), an entertaining and worthwhile read.

A full on day for poor Martin. Louisa's not going to be happy though. Nice chapter.

Amazing chapter showing how angry and put upon Martin felt in Port Wenn. Despite saving lives and helping everyone, he is clearly not appreciated and his time is not respected. Yet again he is helping Tricia by sacrificing his time with Louisa. Superb insights.

Not a good day for Martin with Mr. Cook's desiccated finch and then having to watch Danny Steele with Louisa.
