This is beautiful! I'd have loved to see him staying to catch her after the inevitable breakdown (I'm sure he would have liked to though), and I absolutely loved the way you described him doing it, holding back with what he wants, just being there, as an offer.

And I really, REALLY hope that one day, she will understand on the show, too what she got here already; what Stefan has done on Wickery Bridge is unforgivable.

Thank you for capturing exactly how I expected Elena to react. I found her reaction (and Damon's) very muted but this O/S was much more believable and so emotional painful. Great job showing Elena's pain and the struggle inside her to understand Stefan's actions. Thanks for sharing.

I'm supposed to sleep but I couldn't but read this story, and once I started, I couldn't give up :) It's very well written, no OOC and the writing style is great. It's very touching how Damon cares about Elena's feelings and refuses to take advantage of her vulnerability even though she would hardly mind.
