I'm glad to see Smith step up and take responsibilty. I always saw him as more an amoral character than an immoral one. That is an important distinction.

Uh oh.. busted. It's one thing to suspect something, its another to be faced with cold hard facts. It will be interesting to see how Smith will fare when his dark past is brought into the light. I dont think I've read a story where he was revealed (well I read a couple of novels set in the movie-verse but not the series)not really the same thing though.

Excellent ending. Loved the wedding. I think Smith would've shed a few tears though, seeing Judy given away to the Major. ;)

Nice seeing Colonel Smith dust off the ol' uniform too.

"Major, if you don't stop fidgeting, I'm going to have to

give you another sedative," said Smith, as he stood next to him.

"Oh, no you don't, Zach. The last time you did that, I was out

for the whole day."

Wouldn't it be just like Smitty to knock the Major out on his wedding day. ;)

"Zach indeed," said Smith, indigently. "Have you no respect

for the uniform?"

"Sorry, Colonel," said Don, with only a trace of irony in his

voice.

Smitty can't get any respect for his Colonel-hood. LOL.

"Judy, I…" She smiled at his misstep and Don paused to collect

himself. "I knew I should have gone first."

Loved that line. LOL.

Can't wait to see what happens in subsequent stories.

Judy had seen the determination on Smith's face as he fought to save

the Major's life. His concern had been genuine as was Don's

appreciation for what the Doctor had done. So, when Don asked Smith to

be his best man, it came as no surprise to Judy. They would be miserable

if they didn't have each other to verbally spar with, she thought.

They would. Most definitely.

"Trust me, Major West, my actions were just as much about self

preservation as they were heroism."

That's what he tells himself. LOL. But this is more closer to the truth...

Somehow, Zachary, I think I do know what you would have done, and I

thank you for it, Don thought to himself.

"You surprised me, back in the cave, Zachary. I never expected you

to jump Tyler. By doing so, you saved all of our lives, including

Judy's."

Did you just watch Space Primevals too? LOL. Don never calls Smith "Zachary". ;)

LOL! Demon Smith, eh? He's bad, but he's not THAT bad. Though, I'm sure Don likes to think of him that way. Smith and West annoying the hell out of each other for eternity... sounds about right. LOL.

So, Judy made the first move, Smith made the first move against Tyler, and Don made the first move in the wrong direction. LOL. Let's hope Smitty can patch the Major up!

"He's infected," said Smith. "Tyler brought a supply of

weaponized Ebola from Earth. He had a vial on his person."

Colonel Tyler wiped the blood from his nose in disgust.

"Say goodbye to your wife, West," he said, shifting his aim

towards Judy.

Oh, boy... Could it get any more tense? So, who's going to do something stupid first? Smith or West? LOL. Normally, my money would be on West, but I'm betting on Smith in this one...

Don doesn't know about the ebola and if he gets into a rumble with Tyler, the vial could break and kill them all. Smith does know about it though, so it'll be interesting to see how he handles it.

"If Doctor Smith truly wants to be free of his past, he needs to be

confronted by it. Otherwise, he'll continue to live in denial."

I think sometimes Smith is entirely comfortable living in denial. LOL.

Poor Smitty, back against the wall. What will he do? Surely, he has to know that with a price on his head, he's not likely to get out of this no matter what he does. A very interesting development...

As Smith strode to the elevator, he reached a decision to confront Lt. Colonel Tyler later that evening. I'm going to find out what his intentions are, and if he intends to bring harm to my family, I will expose him.

You really did your homework. Excellent. When people make the effort to be as accurate as possible in their sci-fi, I really enjoy it. (Though, it's not a prerequisite for me to enjoy a good story.)
