Dr. Tofu was like a bit actor in the manga, sort of like a character that's only in a TV series from three to five episodes before they're simply gone. I never saw the anime so I can't say what he's like there.

This fits how I see Kasumi portrayed. She's a main character yet kept more or less in the background. There's no... substance to her. In fact, she's more "alive" in fanfics than the manga from what I read.

Yes, I have nights like this. ::shrugs:: I married my Dr. Tofu and then lost him. Life happens. So does death.

Kasumi is still young, try finding someone when you're over 40 and closing in on 50 fast.

I have seen girls(women) go after the "bad boys" all to often, nice just is not what too many value.

I'm still nice but with a bitter core inside.

Hmm. Some nights are hell. I don't think this is way out of character for Kasumi. People who are the support for everyone around them tend to have problems like this. If her family had thanked her more and told her how good she was to her face, maybe it wouldn't be that bad. But, I'll just pretend that tomorrow is better cuz Dr. Tofu said the last thing he ever thought he'd be able to say to her, that he loves her _. Yay for good dreams. Excellent story!

Not bad at all. But the fact remains that we'll never truly know. I do believe that Kasumi knows that Tofu-sensei is crazy about her, but she is not going to make the first move (given how she does things). And because Rumiko Takahashi effectively removed the Tofu character from the manga early (since he wasn't generating the comic relief she thought he would) and makes so many sporadic appearances in the anime (a few eps in season 1, I think twice in season 3, and once in season 6), it's never truly resolved.

But to believe that Kasumi knows about how Tofu-sensei feels about her, you would have to assume that she knows more than she lets on, and there are some hints of that throughout the anime series (haven't read alot of the manga yet). But still a good work.
