Hey, Farla. This is Moe aka blckphoenix. I read your bit about Scyther since it is one of my favorite Pokemon, the evolved form being part of my dream team. I don't know where you got the idea for Scyther being a killer but it was interesting to say the least. When I had a choice between Red and Blue, I chose Red because I wanted Scyther. Personally I think Scyther is cool too but Scizor can hold up better on its own, for a little longer. But I still like Scyther, being a fan of swords and blades as I am.

Oh the irony, I'm completely against killing others but I liked this short story. Scyther is, hands down, my favorite grass pokemon. I'm not a grass fan, but I think Scyther is awesome. I can see Scyther's purpose in killing. He/She thinks it is what they were born for, but I really think Scyther can be more than that if he/she puts their mind to it. It may not be tending to the wounded or playing with younger children, but surely there has to be a purpose for Scyther other than taking away others' lives?

I've seen Scyther interpreted in many ways - the most common image appears to be this "made-to-kill" one.

I personally (and rather obviously) like my own interpretition - according to it, all sentinent beings are born with the same innocence, but through living a whole life as a predator, Pokémon like Scyther lock everything called pity out of their minds, pretty much stop grieving the dead at all, and actually start loving the smell of blood so that "the color red alone gets you high", as the Scyther in my OT fic worded it.

I don't especially like your version, because I don't like thinking that Scyther are nothing but killers.

But it is definitely interesting...

Wow, Kitty, slow down. Where in this fic did it ever say that Scyther are pure evil? It just told of their nature, that's all. Really. But hey, you can interperate it anyway you want. And, uhhh, watch the spelling mistakes, Kitty, they really don't want to make anyone read a thing you write and take it seriously. Whew! Now, to the story. Great! Wonderful! That's really all I can say about it. I REALLY hope you write more!

Sheesh! It's amazing how seriously you people take these things! I really enjoy the way you have written this. In my point of view the Scyther could very easily be put into the Pokemon universe for the reason to kill, as a natural way to deal with over population.

...And if anyone has a problem with that point of veiw feel free to e-mail me...It won't change my mind.

ok let me get one thing stright here: NO POKEMON IS PURE EVIL(yes that inculdes umberons). Scythers just because they look fericous arnt murders. Yes, maybe they could kill a person if they were orders to by a trainer but would a wild one jsu walk up and kill a person? no. Its true that you can raise a pokemon badly nut isnt that true for anything? if you raise a bay badly it might behave badly but will insectly go out and shoot a person? no. Sorry, farla but maybe you should start doing something called "thinking".

Jeffery the Black Scizor here. Lissen Farla, I don't know who you're trying to fool but Scyther's are NOT killers. They may like to fight but they do NOT kill. They like to fight because they are warriors.

Yes, I also thought the same way about some kinds of Pokemon like Scyther. This is a realistic idea of what Scyther thinks like.

A good description of Scyther's nature and what "justifies" Scyther's behavior. A good length, and a few good points in its argument. Of course, similar arguments would also work with other creatures like Tyranitar which have already been classified as being of an "insolent nature".

A bit dull.

I always felt Scyther were predatory creatures. This is a pretty nice look on the 'kill or be killed' of real predators.

Killer blades and razor wings, that's how they're build.
