Sentinel Prime 10/18/12 . chapter 2Aawwww, my poor, poor Sauron! |
Duilin 2/16/12 . chapter 3 I should have signed in. I admit. But dang, it's already done? I'd have thought that such a magnificent story would have continued on and on! But I loved the ending just right. It was like watching - reading - the end of a movie, with the epilogue read right out for the watchers/readers. Now, I'm starting to feel sorry for Sauron. Well, that's never happened before. |
CrackinAndProudOfIt 2/14/12 . chapter 3A fantastic ending to a fantastic start to this series! I just can't get over how well you express the emotions in the quote you finished with, and you make Sauron the truly complex character Tolkien wrote him as. Great work! :) -Crackers |
Mornen 2/13/12 . chapter 3Let me take a moment to catch my breath. I've still lost after reading this incredible story in under ten minutes. My feelings for this back-story of Sauron is too hard to explain. I feel ready to start stumbling over my words. I suppose I can just say that it has deeply affected and moved me. But that doesn't seem like enough. It's almost painful to read, and yet it needs to be read. There, I am stumbling now. So, awesome story; I loved it! |
Mornen 2/13/12 . chapter 2That chapter was terribly disturbing and wonderful at the same time. I was sitting in terror as I read it, but still it gripped me so hard that I could not stop reading it, did not want to stop reading it. The part about Olorin made me cry out in surprise and alarm. The rivalry between Sauron and Gothmog was very believable, and Morgoth was amazingly close to how I have imagined him. And, of course, don't think it too strange, but I loved the torture scene - especially the change between gentle and cruel in Gothmog. |
Mornen 2/13/12 . chapter 1Ah, a story told from Sauron's perspective. I love it. It's so gripping. It really is, when I first innocently opened this story, I had to ask 'What am I reading?' When I realized, I was thrilled. The line 'Huan is here' will now forever carry a different meaning for me. |
CrackinAndProudOfIt 2/9/12 . chapter 2That was great! I know that sounds quite horrible to say about a chapter full of torture, but it's true! You already know how accurate I believe your Morgoth and Sauron are, especially in Morgoth's dialogue, and I enjoyed the added details. Getting to see exactly what Sauron's torment entailed was powerful and vivid. Great work! -Crackers :) |
Duilin 2/8/12 . chapter 2 Wow. Just...? (No space is intentional. :P) I was really astounded (and awed) by this one! Though I don't really have a thing for torture or anything like that, this was quite realistic. And Gothmog and Morgoth are a sadistic bastard's spirit in two bodies, except Morgoth got more out of the soul than Gothmog... |
CrackinAndProudOfIt 2/2/12 . chapter 1That was awesome, Skye! You know how much I love your characterization and take on Sauron, and this was yet another great example of it. I really liked your vivid language and descriptions, and it was very well-written! I'm looking forward to next Monday! :) -Crackers |
Duilin 1/31/12 . chapter 1Well, Finrod is pretty important - but man, it's good to see some side of Sauron as well, disappointing Morgoth, the one person/Vala I'd like to castrate with a rusty spoon. Really good so far! |
