Reviews for The Howling of Wolves
Black Mirror 6/15/12 . chapter 4
Loved this. Arya - Tywin moments were also my favourites plus Arya is one of the POV-s I like most in the books. The intrigue of where her story line may be going. The change from a little girl that likes playing with swords, curious about the world and all it's people and most hardship she has know is jealousy of her perfect sister, into a killer that still likes to interact with people at all levels and learning how the world works.

The foreshadowing in this chapter now makes me want to read the sequel: Arya coming back with her army and Tywin-the-lier getting ready to fight another war (ok, presuming he is not killed off by Tyrion in the television version).
MRN 6/14/12 . chapter 4
I haven't got time to write a proper review, but I wanted to say this chapter/oneshot was excellent and that I'd love it if you wrote more with Tywin.
Crystal Weaver 6/13/12 . chapter 4
I'm about 50/50 on if tywin knew or not about Arya. Personally I don't think he knew that she was a Stark but I do beleive that he thought that she was more than she appearerd to be. I think that he might see a bit of himself in her and that she is an intresting puzzle to solve. If nothing else she seems to be smarter company for him than the rest of the idiots he surrounds himself with.
dragonknight 6/12/12 . chapter 4
I really love these AUs. You have a wonderful talent for worldbuilding, I hope you'll continue writing. (More about Jon Snow, plz...)
Yoholic 6/12/12 . chapter 4
An excellent chapter, loved the insights into tywin's mind
Wolf's Honour 5/11/12 . chapter 1
I find this one shot alone worth more than every fanfic of the Game of Thrones that has been written so far. Too many try to make Jon forgo his vows to the Night's Watch, have Sansa and Arya 'love' each other more than siblings, or even bring yaoi and yuri incest which is disgusting (specifically Jaime/Cersei).

I am pleased to be reading something like this and will review on the next oneshot. If anything I think you should write a lengthy story of Game of Thrones, sense in my opinion you could make a masterpiece like you have with Lost Soul, Twist of Fate, Shikon, Demon Brothers, and so on. If you do I shall be waiting.

LD you have my respect. Continue writing.

I really liked your story so far. I haven't read past book three yet but I love your style and the way you use the characters. The best one in my opinion is the second one, for your portrayal of Daenerys. I like your choice of words and your story looks like there was a lot of careful thought put into it. Keep up the good work.
feanor 5/9/12 . chapter 3
Delicious story. I hope you'll never lack for inspiration. You just made me feel sympathy for Melisandre, who in the books is my most hated character. And here I am, glad that she finally found her Azor Ahai.
Random Reader 5/9/12 . chapter 3
I really love the chapters on Jon Snow. I agree; there aren't enough stories on him that aren't slash. I don't mind the funky pairings with Sansa, Arya or Dany.

I hope you do return to this idea in the third chapter at some point. The dynamic between these two characters is great and I'd love to see where you could take it.
Guest 4/30/12 . chapter 2
Hm. Again, nice, but more domestic, it would be almost 'fluffy' if someone didn't die.

Selmy is a great character, but since he isn't pretty enough for slash authors to like him, or power-hungry enough to tear the world apart for his own gain, he generally seems like a vestigial character for anything but short stories focusing on his duty. To be fair though, that's his character in the series as well, someone who genuinely embraces the values of the knight, is extremely talented, and wants someone who shares his values to serve. Since he's so self contained, I don't see what you could do with him as a lead character without having another character or group instigate the conflict e.g. Cersei framing him as a traitor once he leaves the Kingsguard.
Mr Stereo1 4/29/12 . chapter 1
A nice short piece - does it mean you're going with the 'love-story' version of Lyanna and Rheagar? There's scope for it, but why oh why Lyanna didn't tell her father or brothers before running off when she probably knew the assumptions they would make after the tourney... I have no idea. Or it could have been the stockholm syndrome version, you played with that in Lost Soul, after all.

On Jon breaking his vows... well, yes. I often wonder why the writers don't just change his decision to join the Night's Watch in the first place. I mean, they've turned known heterosexual characters gay, given characters skills they never had before, somehow make female muscle ten times more effective than the male alternative to allow their protagonist to go sword to sword with a knight without visible muscles like Brienne is known to have... that's not to mention the incest. Oh, the incest, just why do people do that? They're not the writers' relatives, so if they want to write pornography about them, go ahead. As long as it's properly tagged so I can avoid it, it wouldn't be worth worrying about. No, what disturbs me is how damn out of character it all is, like the Jon/Sansa or Arya 'pairings'. Even when the experiences the characters have gone through can justify it, which is rare and requires a lot of specific work, no-one seems to show the in-universe outrage from the culture they're in.

As for why Jeyne and Dany are so idolised, I think it's because so many women reading the series empathise with them. While Catleyn screws up so badly so often there's less love for her, their failures can be plausibly blamed on others, and they're both younger, so the fanfic writer's demographic might feel closer to them. Everyone bends the knee because the writer also likes the other characters... very few people seem to realise that to make a good conflict ridden story in westeros, you need to be willing to make your characters suffer.
MushroomCap 2/22/12 . chapter 2
Hey, there's a really great Robb Stark/Myrcella Baratheon story on

Just a heads up in case you haven't read it yet. It's completed and about 9 chapters long.
Yoholic 2/21/12 . chapter 2
So true, please keep up the good work
Baroque 2/4/12 . chapter 1
I like that you kept Jon honorable to his vows (as you stated, I see him as that sort of character, too) rather than do what's easier or possibly "happier" for him as a person.

Looking forward to reading more of your ficlets!
pansy25 2/4/12 . chapter 1
Interesting story... a good fic with a theme of family. Grammar wise, might I suggest that you would italicize the words you wish to empathize in the future and not highlight it with a bold font. The italics has the same effect anyway.

In your author's note. I agree with some of what you said, and it makes me cringe knowing there are so many San-San stories out there. God, I hate that pairing!

I think after reading half of the stories in this category, there are also reasonable, wonderful and well-written stories here like Theon & Jeyne Poole, Brienne & Jaime, Lyanna & Rhaegar as well as Jaime & Sansa stories and yes some Jon & Sansa ones too. Some of them are really good that depict the author's own ideas to what may happen before and after the series regarding the fate of their favorite characters.

Anyway, I like your one-shot fic and I hope to read more of your works in the future...
