Liked this. Most probably it has to end where and the way it did. But, if Gibbs doesn't openly acknowledge his relationship with Ziva I think it would end at year end 2012. There relationship has a 'best if used by' as can be seen by Ziva's pushing for the affair to be out in the open and setting a date.

Well Ziva is trying to get Gibbs to acknowledge their personnel relationship; Gibbs is trying to keep from decking Sr; and Sr is plainly just trying.

The episode you are recalling is a hard one to watch. It is hard to grasp the level of violence on children and is portrayed..

I didn't like "Newborn King" but I loved this chapter. It was a nice way to cover the 'go public' thing and Ziva's feelings about children.

I can see Ziva wants so much to have a family and I think Jethro is wise in not just yet coming out that those two are an item. I think he wanted to make sure his relationship with Ziva was on track and solid. But the changes in Ziva are apparent to Jethro and he sees her in ways no one else can. The fact that she wants children after all that's happened to her is something Jethro can cherish as well as one day having another family to love again. :D

You know me well enough to know that I am one of the people who would have loved for you to carry this through their coming out to the team and beyond. However, as I believe I have also said, the stories reveal themselves to us as they are meant to be if we have an ear to listen. If it feels like this story is complete here for you, then it is ... at least for now. If it speaks to you to come back to it, it sounds like you will listen and I hope you do. :)

First off, I absolutely did not find this chapter boring. I loved the way you were inside Ziva's head so much and you nailed that, I thought. I also appreciated - and agree with - your explanation here as to why her take-down of that last Russian took so unbelievably long w/ all those missed gunshots on the actual ep. Distraction of the nature she was having here could certainly do that.

I found that flash of irritation when he lifted her shirt without asking, that feeling that he wants things both hidden and open between them, to be very realistic and very Ziva - an inspired way of communicating much (including his concern for and compatibility with her) in just a few words and a couple of actions.

And I adore the way this ends with a feeling of hope and certainty on both sides and that Ziva can picture a future between them that she'd stopped imagining for herself. Makes me smile like Ziva. )

So glad you posted this and I do hope your Zibbs muse nudges you - heck, waves up and down madly at you! :p - again.

I like it. I think you focussed well on an issue they would have, with the fact that Ziva can be openly affectionate to others but not him.
