This is great, I really like it! I love Mrs R's sort of surrogate mother relationship to Darcy (though I'm guessing at this point Mrs D is still alive, since he is only 7?)

Wickham is a little sh*t. Sorry, I can't think of a better term.

it is a very good fic for this first chapter. Mr Darcy is worried about his son that feels, but it is also very gullible to believe that her child is at fault without getting his side of the story and word Wickham.

I guess you want to show why Wickham felt privileged and nothing but the first chapter one can understand why: always considered telling the truth, never punished, ...

but I hope you sauraus also be times when Mr Darcy's affection for his son is certain.

little I found my mother very severe, so much so that I was jealous of my cousin that she received no criticism. it is only later that I realized that when a parent loves his child, he punished for his mistakes.

I always thought that to Darcy and Wickham was the same. Darcy was his son, in each of his mistakes he punished to teach him (although I think quite often it was not actually guilty). learned that to our hero, righteousness and generosity.

however Wickham was not his son, just the son of his steward. he loved it because it was nice but really Wickham was nothing for him. Mr darcy would he choose between the one or the other, we all know that he would have chosen.

Wickham was therefore left to do what he wanted, which in a mind so jealous and ungrateful than hers automatically put him in the position of favorites. that is why he says in all sincerity to be the favorite of Mr Darcy.

but he believes this is not true.

at least that's my perspective.

I want to know how you see it, if you have the same vision. this could give me an idea, not without me reveal details on the implementation of your story.

because in all sincerity, I do not like fics Darcy or a child is excluded and which one does not deal in favor Wickham. when we know what the two men become, I can not accept it.
