| SeungSeiRan 2/25/12 . chapter 1 I adore Athena and your portrayal of her, via Ares, is achingly perfect. He yearns for her but can never have her. Unrequited desire at its basest, as seen with how he tries to replace with other lesser women. He can't be tamed, but it's fascinating to see how she is the one person who has any kind of hold on him. Whether she really does enjoy tormenting him or if she does have her own reasons is anyone guess. From what we can see with Ares, he's at a loss and can't figure out which is true. Athena's strength and charisma shines through. Can't say I blame Ares for his attraction to her. It's like a warped Greek-tragic version of Beauty and the Beast but with no happy ending in sight. The last moment they share - "Perhaps, then, I should be crueller still," she whispered seeing the unease in his eyes. "A kiss to torment you." - is just perfect. |
