I am literally shocked.

This was amazing. Actually amazing. In just one little snapshot you managed to give us so much information — a complete world — about these three characters. The characterization was perfect, and the writing itself was just so raw but so simple and clean, too. Effortlessly concise. Every word felt just right.

This is totally going on my favorites. This is, in my opinion, probably one of your best works ever. Fantastic job. Seriously, just amazing. It makes me want to write an avante garde oneshot. You are my hero!

Oh gosh- this ficlet is the epitome of angst.

Sakura's mood is captured so well- there's a lovely element of shock, and I think that the spliff she's smoked has only left her in a state susceptible to break-down (No disembodied arm needed, there were going to be tears at some stage after an experience like that). The back story was electrifying, and terribly, terribly realistic. I love the fact that you can capture a tricky character like Sakura so easily, and make her into a tangible, real person. Even though she is brilliant, she's definitely not a Naka, or an Itachi, and I suppose here her veneer of brilliance only makes her palatable. Hubris, failed ambition. That sort of thing. I also loved the bitterseet tang of failure when she gets into the car with Naruto. You get the real feeling that this relationship is a utility relationship, formed from guilt and shock (Though there's definitely some kindling of emotion from Sakura- what starts off as a utility relationship can transform over time). Yet I certainly don't hate her for it. It casts her in a human light.

And when is a disembodied human body part ever not a harbinger of certain doom? I'm sure there's a Checkov rule about it somewhere...
