Every once in a while Mr. Reed NEEDS a reminder to loosen up a bit. No one, not even he, can maintain the impossibly rigid standards set for him in his youth.

I could just imagine Malcolm's disapproval at their unprofessional behaviour, and I think that Trip is just the sort of character who *could* get away with that sort of prank.

At the same time, I thought that Malcolm's hastily curtailed thoughts about Hoshi were charming, and even more so his eye-roll at the thought that T'Pol would be saving her egg to give to Trip later. No doubt because it would be illogical to let it go to waste, and not at all because she enjoys how pleased he is to receive a treat from his t'hy'la.

I see you changed one tiny thing. That's much more in-character for Malcolm, but the way it was before didn't put me off, since he's probably more given to stronger expletives in his own head.

I have to say, the part where he's musing about getting chocolate into his console never fails to make me smile. I just imagine his voice saying that, so dryly, and I love it.
